I had Der Dolle Oerbier. One member of my party had a Scandinavian beer and one had a French beer. I actually don't think I've ever tried a Coors product. I have had many beers from Yards including the Brawler. I am familiar with beers from 12 Percent Importers & Shangy's, which seems like a lot of what FC carries. I understand the economics of beer pricing and I won't be going back to FC. It's too expensive for what I got. If you like it fine. It's the same as I won't be going to the Ranstead Room. It's overpriced. |

I meant Toronto, not NYC. Where the OP is from. I shouldn't post when I am thinking of my next food trip to NYC or at least not until my 2nd cup of Stumptown. |

It's good, but the drink prices really are out of control. That $8 beer was probably only 11oz. I doubt I will go back. |

Amada. Amada is one of the best restaurants in Philadelphia. Osteria and Matysan are also excellent choices. Zahav is good, but mostly because of the novelty. There are much better Greek restaurants in NYC than Kanella. |

Good casual Soul Food/Comfort Food/Italian Food on Sunday Yes. Khyber Pass has at least 2 tvs in the bar, but none in the dining room. |

Zento is probably the best in Philly. I also recommend Fuji in Haddonfield NJ. The problem with Izumi is that they destroy the rice (it really ruins the pretty good fish they serve). Zama or Raw would be my second choice in Philly, but, Zama, only for sushi. Don't order anything else from the Zama menu. |

Dinner for 2 at Zama...need a good place for cocktails before hand... Franklin Mortgage. |

Traditional sushi in Philadelphia Yes. Fuji is your best bet. It's not a bad idea to let Chef Ito know you are coming and to reserve seats at the sushi bar. |

Good casual Soul Food/Comfort Food/Italian Food on Sunday The mac and cheese at Khyber Pass Pub is great. Craig Laban just gave them a very good review in this Sunday's Inquirer. I have been there 4 times in the last two weeks and I really am quite the fan. |

Vegan / Vegan Friendly in Philadelphia / Bucks County My vegan ex-girlfriend loved Royal Tavern. |

Indian takeout at Passyunk Square - anyone tried it? I've been by the fountain twice in the last week and didn't notice anything. Where exactly is this place? It's not Indian, but Circles Thai is pretty good and they deliver. |

Yes. I agree. August is an unsung gem in Philly. |

Can't Miss Dishes at Distrito? I highly recommend you go to Amada, Tinto or Village Whiskey. Distrito is really the least interesting of the Garces places. |

Fork and Barrel, East Falls, Philadelphia, PA Their beer selection is awesome, but I do not love the food. That being said, I have still been there 3 times in the last two months. |

I'd also recommend Rangoon for excellent Burmese food and Banana Leaf for excellent Malaysian food. |

Best bars near Amada are Sassafras, Khyber Pass Pub Plough & The Stars and National Mechanics. I've heard good things about Philadelphia Bar & Restaurant, but I haven't been yet. I do not like Triumph, Buffalo Billiards or Eulogy. Panorama is also a great bar, but not quite as close as those others. 20 people is probably too many for the bars at Fork, Zahav or BuddaKhan. Maybe too many for Sassafras also. |

Little Fish is back, better than ever This is great news. Mike is an incredible chef. He's a scallop genius. When's Fathom to open? |

You should totally check it out. As mentioned in another thread, the gumbo is amazing, and I also love the po' boys. It's from the same owner/chef as Royal Tavern. I saw Soul Asylum and the Jayhawks together at the old Khyber. Good times. |
