We shared a bottle of bubbles on our balcony and watched the sun go down. Eventually went to our neighborhood favorite cherrywood coffeehouse for the fried shrimp and had both redsauce and remoulade. Back home for tons of chocolate. No crowds...quite a nice night.

Hanger Steak

Lamberts! Hangar steak is on their bar menu, meaning it's 8 bucks at happy hour. It's one of my favorite things in town. Topped with jalapeno butter and served with a toad in hole which sounds weird but it's a great combination. Add one or two of Chris's sazeracs and oh man what a meal.

Real Store-bought French Bread

The Hancock HEB does have them but quantities are limited. There were some rolls too but I just bought the baguettes. Can't wait to try!

help me find shrimp and grits

2 options:
Cherrywood coffeehouse on 38th has them for brunch every sat/sun. Fantastic.
Black star beer co-op at airport & Lamar has an appetizer of 3 grit cakes w a perfectly cooked shrimp on top of each. We could've eaten them all night!
