Across from NBC in Burbank... someone has been working on it for years, and in the past few weeks, there a been a burst of progress: paint, windows, doors, etc.

Has anyone heard what is going in to that building? Rumours of what restaurant.?

"Olive & Thyme" opens at the corner of Pass and Riverside 1 Feb. Last night while walking home from dinner, my wife and I stopped to look in the windows, and were invited in by the owners who were working with a couple of other staff. They told us about their plans for wine and cheese tastings, beers they'll have, and food to be served. Looking forward to this charcuterie/cheese/beer and wine shop opening fully.

Can't tell you how long we've wished a place like this would open in our neighborhood.

When "chain" eateries started sending out trucks... end of the line for that idea.

Try Vendome, they usually have a large selection of Belgiums.

Hell yeah, they do... We (my wife and I) eat oysters, sweetbreads, calf brains, Rocky Mountain oysters, guanciale, tongue, trotters, foie gras, caviar, bottarga, blood sausage, marrow, sea urchin, etc, etc, etc.

We ate at Nirvana about a year ago, with relatives that live in Laguna, it's one of their usual places. We were very happy with the food and service.

Is being in Burbank a bad thing? It is in "the Valley." ;-) Central Park Pizza is good.
