Your all correct about Splash, they're consistent on what they serve. Have their method down to a science with the lines and the bread. It's a well run establishment. I will explore again when we head back down to visit the central coast. Love the nice family run places and the wonders fo the central coast. Thanks again for all the helpful tips!

If you don't mind a sit down table cloth place, try Scoma's on pier 47 and Jefferson. it's tucked behind the main drag on a finger pier. It's more on the pricey side, but for lunch and a really good crab sandwich that's served to you. That's the place. It's a San Francisco experience. It's definitely better than the street vendor crab sandwiches and clam chowder. Its walking distance from Pier 35, just west of the wax museum 2 1/2 blocks. If you go, let me know your thoughts. Hello Everyone, Thanks for the tips on Brads and Splash's clam chowder.
We've tried both and I do admit that Splash's chowder is much thicker, if you like that and has a butter garlic flavor component in it. Which makes it a bit richer and more flavorful.
All in all, it was great to try both places and compare. IMO, I'm still looking for that perfect bowl of clam chowder. I know its out there. Btw: my wife loved Splash's chowder and brought home a frozen quart. Lol!

If in the mood for a hearty good breakfast and a heavenly airy homemade biscuit the size of a grapefruit, then try out Hoover's Beef Palace in Templeton, ca. They also serve lunch fare ,but the breakfast and buscuit and gravy is awesome!
Place is not much for ambiance, kinda jocko's like in decor. Kitchy ranch
