I dunno about you, but I don't like crustless sandwiches Wonderbread toast with the end piece was the best part of the whole loaf!! Loved the toast with any Wonderbread but the crust of Wonderbread, yum yum yum! |

I dunno about you, but I don't like crustless sandwiches I love love love crust on a sandwich! And just like people that don't eat pizza crust, what is wrong with you?? |

Are You a Tidy Terry or a Filthy Fran? So funny!! I have so many Monk tendencies too, foodwise and just life in general. It's a good thing my husband is the exact opposite! |

Are you a better cook than your Mother? My mother is the best cook I ever met, can make anything and everything without as much as a recipe. She just "knows" how to make it all. I am more jealous of her talent to get it all done at the same time, piping hot and served to 8 people without as much as breaking a sweat. Such an amazing woman! Now my mother-in-law is a different story; I don't think she even knows how to boil water... |

preparing for SNOW!?! [moved from Home Cooking board] I love cooking something fun on snowy days (yes, even a few inches!). Tomorrow I'm baking some pork ribs with a teriyaki bbq sauce and just having rice pilaf and salad for sides. Something so cozy about a nice warm kitchen with a storm brewing outside! |

So, what is your meal on this New Year's Eve? I drooled reading your reply, please tell me what time to be there! Sounds so good, enjoy your evening! Happy New Year! |

Rice salad - I'm being tested by my MIL Your salad sounds so good, I hope you love it. I have been following your thread as this is something my mother-in-law would do to me too, I felt so bad for you. I hope you have a nice evening regardless of her reaction to your gorgeous salad. Happy New Year! |

How do you top your french fries? The corned beef was only a one day thing, the Chinese cooks were celebrating the holiday and we are friendly with the owner. It was so funny! We still stuck to our mai-tais, we didn't ask if they had Jameson or Guiness. Now that would have felt funny drinking that there! |

Homemade Holiday Gifts that Travel Send me some homemade pasta and I will let you know how it turns out. :) What a thoughtful gift for you to send to your inlaws, I hope they love you (and appreciate you aren't trying to poison them lol! Most people's intent IS to poison their inlaws haha.) Merry Christmas! |

How do you top your french fries? Ours don't come in styrofoam! They come in the typical Chinese box that folds at the top, except they don't close it and the fries are full up higher than the top of the box. Come to think of it, a Chinese restaurant further away were the best fresh onion rings we ever had (not on the menu but you can ask for them). We were also there once for St. Patrick's Day and had spucky rolls and boiled corned beef sandwiches. Seriously better than some Irish places we've been (we couldn't get into one that day, it was a Saturday afternoon and they were packed early!). Who woulda thunk the Chinese restaurant was making corned beef?! Add a little hot mustard (first time ever doing that!) and it was awesome! Now I'm in the mood for Chinese food but I want a side of french fries, onion rings and corned beef lol!! |

How do you top your french fries? YUM, steak juices. Works best with homemade steak fries! |

How do you top your french fries? The Chinese restuarant near our house has better french fries than all of the subshops in our town, isn't that sad? They are just regular crinklecut frozen fries but they are a perfect 10. Maybe it's the hot oil, I don't know. I always feel silly ordering them with our takeout there but they are to die for! And we aren't the only ones who get them either; we've seen pupu platters with sides of french fries there! The only difference is people ask for the brown gravy instead of using the packs of ketchup (no bottles in the restaurant lol). |

How do you top your french fries? Never ever ever thought of this but now I am very curious! |

I'll plan on 6:45 so I get a good seat at the table! If you think of it, will you please take a pic or 2 to post after Christmas?? I just shared the recipe with my husband and we are salivating just reading about it! Merry Christmas!! |

Changes to Design on Thursday, Dec 13 I apologize if this has already been mentioned but I couldn't find it on any of the threads. When I am on my iphone, I can only look at the first page of discussions. The page numbers nor any type of arrow appear so I can see older threads. I get just the first 25. It's fine on my PC, it just seems to be something within the phone view. Thanks. |

Small Pies or Tarts in Boston Area I know this is quite a bit further than Boston but this bakery's mini-tarts are soooo good. Assuming you order enough, I can't see why they wouldn't deliver to your hall or caterer. Good luck planning your wedding, the time will fly after the 1st of the year. |

Polar Seltzer: Limited Edition Winter/New England flavors I have not tried them but will look for them this weekend. Thanks for posting about this, the butter rum sounds tasty!! |

boston style pork fried rice recipe sorry but that made me literally laugh out loud!! are you sure you didn't make homemade scorpion bowls and you accidently passed out drunk? jk!! |
|
|
boston style pork fried rice recipe lol @ happy for me! we are about 45 mins from downtown boston so we can in fact get down there real quick. but...it's too far to go and have dinner with a few mai tais and scorpion bowls lol. New Hampshire really really doesn't have good Boston food. Don't even get me started about Italian food, esp. chicken parm or even a simple Italian sub. It's horrendous... 1200 is a bit of a drive. and you'd be hungry an hour later. ;) |

boston style pork fried rice recipe So happy for you!! Everything you made sounds delicious!! |

boston style pork fried rice recipe Lol, I'll be the judge!! Please deliver enough for me, my husband and the doggy of course. :) Golden House is so good, and Lisa is the nicest Chinese woman I know!! We have been known to get off the highway to pick up takeout to take back to New Hampshire as it's THAT good. |

boston style pork fried rice recipe Sorry I don't have a suggestion for a recipe but I wanted to back you up on your statement, if you have to have it described then you just don't get it. I live in NH now (formerly in Boston) and there is just nothing like Boston area rice. I stopped looking up here for anything like it as there is just no comparison at all. My favorites in Boston area are Kowloon (not their other food though but rice is spot on), Lo Kai in Dracut, Golden House in Everett and Bali Hai in Lynnfield. I wish you luck in your search! Please post back if you find anything!! |

St. Patrick's Day Breakfast---Derry/Manchester/Nashua? Does anyone know who is having St. Patrick's Day breakfast this Saturday in the Derry/Manchester /Nashua area? Usually The Halligan in Derry has it but I heard they aren't opening up until 4pm this year? Looking to go out in the morning as the green beer drinkers are sure to be all over downtown Manchester all day Saturday! Thanks, |

Dinner guests who are chronically late and/or early...what to do? Lol, ok I can see your points. So, when and where are we meeting and what are we having!!! |
|
|
Dinner guests who are chronically late and/or early...what to do? Lol, the only problem with that is.....the dopes who do all the wrong things have no concept of the things they do!! They'd all be barging in on our fun and properly timed meals!!! |
|
|
Dinner guests who are chronically late and/or early...what to do? You have so much more patience than I do. The invites would have stopped long ago. I have no patience for people who can't respect the amount of work that goes into carefully planning a dinner party, the cleaning/prep/serving and then cleaning again. It's usually (in my experience) the ones who don't respect the timelines also never host or help EVER. That being said, please send me an invite to your party lol. I promise to respect the time, bring any dish I can to help, will show up early if you want to help (or make you a predinner drink!) and then help you clean up so you can enjoy the party. :o) God bless you for trying to have a nice dinner and adjusting all the invites! |

Review: Ralphie's, Salem NH (Nov 09) My husband and I went there recently. Ordered takeout from the bar and had a drink while we waited. The young kids working there should pay more attention to their customers rather than discounting the value of a takeout order (we still tip generously even though we are taking it with us). They were more worried about their plans for after work or texting on their phones. |
