Cooking classes in Chicago

Just wanted to close this thread with a review of the cooking classes my husband enjoyed. I signed him up for a 2-day cooking bootcamp at the Flavor cooking school in Forest Park. He loved the classes and found the instructor (Denise) very knowledgable. He was given a recipes on cds, notes from recipes from bootcamp and a scraper :) I would highly recommend this school.

We are planning on taking a few more classes there especially 'Knife basics' (for me) and 'Sauces'.

One night at the W on Lake Shore Drive

I'm taking some of my work colleagues out to Dinner Thursday night. Any recommendations for restaurants that are close to the W, aren't too expensive, offer some vegetarian dishes and is not too loud?

Oak Park Berwyn ethnic?

a disrecommendation - just so that you don't make the same mistake I did -- was Meditteranean 'Grape Leaves'.

Thali

I have been quite disappointed with Devon area restaurants especially Mysore Woodlands. Last Indian restaurant I enjoyed was Klay Oven, 414 N. Orleans. If you are looking for Indo-Pakistani non-veg fares, try Sabri Nehari (in Devon). They do have a location in the burbs as well - not sure of the exact address. Lastly, I have been meaning to try Chowpatti, 1035 S. Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights for a while - I have heard good things.
