Very interested in KO. Not a fan of the noodle barthough, imo it lacks when compared to ramen in tokyo.

Sushi Azabu New Chef Inquiry - top tier?

Could be considered as a backup but wouldn't be my first choice of resto.

Looking for a amazing sunday dinner in Manhattan! Suggestions?

Hi, I was originally going to book sushi Azabu, but from the feedback it doesnt seem it will live up to my expectations.

Any other suggestions for a good meal on a sunday night for 2 people? It can range from being cheap - or expensive, to me good food is good food!

I am willing to cab anywhere in the city, and I eat pretty much anything, so any type of restaurant is fine, I have a few weeks before I head over so I would prefer to book sooner rather than later!

Thanks!

Sushi Azabu New Chef Inquiry - top tier?

Blue Ribbon I was always thinking it was a 2nd tier resto - never tried it, but just seeing what they offer on the menu and pictures I never thought of it more of a sushi destination. Which exact location are you talking about and which chef should I book for if I go this route? And what is the price range like?

Could you compare this to say 15 east or brushstroke?

I was also wondering since I see you posting quite often, if you would have a non sushi suggestion for a Sunday?

Thanks for your advice!

More like variety, I am assuming since most are closed on sunday - the fish suppliers doesn't send out on sunday, sometimes chef's run out of certain fish by then. Yes aged fish can be good, aged tuna is good for a few days and white fish can be even longer.

Sushi Azabu New Chef Inquiry - top tier?

Hey thanks for getting back to me both of you!

I am going early oct, so probably will pick a different restaurant then.

Do you have any other recommendations, for a sunday? I was thinking of KO. Never been, I eat quite a bit of asian food in general, and spend a lot of time in asia as well. Would this place be anything special or am I better off trying a different restaurant? This will be a reservation of two.

Sushi Azabu New Chef Inquiry - top tier?

Hello, I been following this board for awhile, and always trust the suggestions of fellow CHers. I have the opportunity to eat at Sushi Azabu or selecting another restaurant.

My questions are:

Sushi Azabu, has received a lot of mixed reviews on this board, and with a new chef, I was wondering if its worth the Omakase price point of starting at $120? What will I receive for that 120? Anyone that has gone recently can break it down? I will choose only nigiri none of the cook food for me or sashimi for that matter.

I have been to yasuda, kurmua, brushstroke, 15 east, ushi. 15 east and brushstroke stand out for me. Will I be disappointed with the style and format of Azabu, would you put this resto at the same level as 15 east and brushstroke?

My last concern, although it shouldnt be a problem but doesnt hurt to ask I will be dining at Azabu on a Sunday, which most sushi joints are closed in NYC. Will this affect the avail of sushi and variety? I don't want to go on a day that the sushi will not be at its best.

If you have any other suggestions for other restaurants on a Sunday, doesn't have to be Sushi related, but very good food cheap or expensive is fine, please let me know. I am open to all suggestions!

Thanks for all your help!

Need Clarification pricing for Sawada and Masa

Hello, i've been reading the forums and have got many price differences, could someone clarify how much Sawada is for lunch? Looking for sushi omakase.

Same with Masa could someone tell me the pricing for their sushi omakase and if they are only open for dinner?

On a side note I also heard sushi satio has great pricing for lunch 5000 or 10000 for sushi? Is this correct?

Thanks for the replies!
