Best Happy Hour at a High End Restaurant
Second this one. It is a fabulous deal. Definitely not a destination place but if you are in the area it is worth checking out.
best breakfast in palo alto
For a good basic breakfast I like Joanie's on California Ave. Consistently good eggs and crispy hashbrowns. You get a choice of a muffin or toast.
When I'm in the mood for something a little more adventurous like Il Fornaio. This isn't a "midwest" breakfast though. No hasbrowns -- polenta with gorganzola instead. French toast made with their italian bread and served with mascarpone cheese instead of butter.
The Plumed Horse in Saratoga?
The Plumed Horse will be changing ownership according to a recent article in the chronicle. The restaurant will close on Feb 17th for a complete overhall and reopen in May.
"Peter Armellino, chef de cuisine at Aqua (252 California St.), is leaving the critically acclaimed San Francisco restaurant and partnering with the new owners of the Plumed Horse (14555 Big Basin Way), a Saratoga institution since 1952. The 38-year-old says he starts as executive chef at his new restaurant in mid-May."
