Visiting The Villages, FL and looking for good restaurants I would say look for a restaurant on one of the squares and soak in that planned community lifestyle. Might as well experience The Villages for what it is. Used to eat with my parents on the square every so often. Its pretty active on weekend evenings, food was alright. Afterwards just walked around watching old timers get down to some live music. If you are looking for something a little more chow worthy I would say check out Belleview or Leesburg. They both have some small town restaurants that are a good atmosphere. I am from Belleview so I guess I am biased and like all the local restaurants but I would suggest Gator Joe's, the Dam Diner, and possibly Belleview Pizza. |

So I went to this event last year and I had a pretty good time. I was able to go for free so that kind of helped. I can't afford to go this year as a college student. But anyway, it had food tasting, wine/beer tasting, and music. Its pretty expensive, $75 per person, but if could be fun if you were looking for something to do. http://www.lowryparkzoo.com/zoofari/i... |

I finally went because I had that groupon. It wasn't anything spectacular. We ordered some crawfish, which was alright. I can't really explain the seasoning, mostly garlic is what I remember. Also got the fried oysters which had more of a tempura type coating and they were alright too. The service was friendly. I probably won't go back again for awhile. I didn't have a particularly bad experience but I feel there are better choices in the area. |

Where to find good seafood buffet or AYCE crawfish near Tampa? I was in Tallahassee and found a place called Ole Times Country Buffet. Turned out to be amazing, especially their crawfish boil. My friend and I are always looking for great bbq or seafood AYCEs. We would really like to find one with crawfish around the Tampa area. Would prefer a more cajun or southern type restaurant (like a Lupton's with seafood) but if we found an asian buffet with good crawfish that would work too! I would be grateful if anyone had any ideas :) ----- Lupton's Buffet Restaurants & Catering |

I want gourmet/artisan pickled sausage. Thats a good topic and I am definitely still searching for a quality recipe. I have made pickled sausages from some all beef or all pork smoked sausages before and my friends seem to like them. I like to use Franks Hot Sauce as the spice. They are definitely better quality than store bought ones but I would like to improve on it. I was thinking maybe free range sausages with low sodium vinegar instead. I don't know how it would taste nor how long it would keep though. That may get a bit expensive as well. |
