High end: the eight-course "fish and game tasting menu" at River Cafe, Calgary. Low end: too many to consider, but the chicken rice for S$6 at Swee's Chicken Rice in Singapore is one I'll never forget.

In Calgary right now: O Shima, Chef's Table at the Kensington Riverside Inn, Han's, Boxwood, and Green Chili (17th Ave location). I'd sooner eat at Taqueria Yugapeti in Walla Walla or the Döner joint at the corner of Rosenthaler Straße and Torstraße in Berlin than at Fat Duck or El Bulli and I can't stand pretentious jerks who can't see past hype.
