Also...Louisian Bistro is right next to our hotel...reviews look good on yelp and some food blogs I've been checking out. Thinking about doing that "feed me" menu option. This might be a good choice if we are too tired to head to the GD or Uptown one evening....thoughts on Lousiana Bistro?

(Almost) Set in stone itinerary. Need a couple bits of advice still...

Day 1
D: Emerils

Day 2
L: August
D: Dante's or Lilette or Coquette (NEED HELP!)

Day 3 New Years Eve
L:Commanders
D: Galatoires

Day 4
L: Mr. B's
D: Iris

Day 5
L: Parkway Bakery
D: Atchafalaya

Need a little help with Day 2 dinner. Also, given the range of the types of places were going for lunches and dinnesr (parkway to august), is there anything I should include/take away? Should I sub something in for Mr. B's on day 4? I'd like to try their bbq shrimp, so long as I can get them during a "snack" break during the day, I'd be okay...

Getting to restaurants in the garden district and points west

You were both very helpful. Thanks so much.

And are cabs relatively easy to get in most parts of town?

Getting to restaurants in the garden district and points west

Well be going to...

Casamento's
Dante's Kitchen
Commanders
Atchafalaya

I'm assuming best way to get there is the St. Charles street car. Were going to do one of those 3 days passes. Question is, where are the stops for the street car? Can I just hop on and off at any stop? Is there a website that shows where all the stops are located?

Which has the best food of the three for dinner - Dante's/Iris/Boucherie

looked into coquette...menu seemed a bit tiny and restrictive...clancys sounds great however.

I can likely hit two of the three...can you guys help me decide? Also, if you want to throw out potentially one or two more for me to consider (in same price range for dinner) I'd be open to that as well.

Help finding a tasting menu

I noticed it was rated at #12 in the washington top 100 restaurants....although, being from san diego, I don't really know if this trustworthy, etc. or not. Does this report have any credibility around the DC area?

Help finding a tasting menu

Also found a place called Vidalia, which seems to be highly rated and reviewed. 75 dollar 5 courses. Think this might be the winner..

Help finding a tasting menu

Thanks for the rec. Doing a bit of research myself I came across Vermilion's tasting menu w/ wine which is 70. Thinking about doing this...any experiences with it?

Help finding a tasting menu

Looking for a restaurant in the DC/Northern Virginia area that has a good tasting menu. I'm hoping to be able to purchase a gift certificate to give to my parents for the holidays. Hoping to find a tasting menu in the range of $60 per person. No Indian or Mexican flavors please. Seafood is a +. Any help appreciated!

Yup, Cajun Seafood is the one on Claiborne. My bro had seen good things on yelp and we were all looking for a casual boiled seafood by the pound type place one of these nights. Were coming from southern california, and surprisingly, seafood isn't as abundent in great quality as one would think. Do you know of a better place than CS for that type of fare?
