What to do with ground beef tenderloin?
I think the original poster did not mean grinding up good lean tenderloin. When you buy a whole tenderloin in the sealed plastic bag it is a very rough cut. The butcher then can trim and tie it for you. There is a lot of trimmings involved - more than one pound on a large filet - that is what is being ground up, There is definitely some fat and connective tissue involved. You would never want to eat it as stake tartare, hence grinding it up.

Port Restaurant Review - Pickering
We've eaten there several times over the past year (usually business dinners) and we have had some nice meals. But they are totally inconsistent - the same dish can be great one time and bad the next. Very unreliable.
Pattypan squash - where to find in Toronto
I'm trying to find Pattypan squash - they are supposed to be small, baby squash that look like little flying saucers or scallop shells - about 3 or 4 inches (7.5 to 10 cm) across.
I have never seen them for sale anywhere.
Lucien, North 44, Pangea, Rosebud or Duncan House?
Duncan House is classic continental style - steak, lobster, caesar salad, etc.
Pickering recommendations
The Port near the bottom of Liverpool
The Burbs at Dixie & Finch
Both are upscale dining.
Casual but nice breakfast place in Scarborough or Pickering
Kathryn's had a big fire a couple of years ago and re-opened after several months with a completely redesigned layout. Not fancy, but O.K. and clean. Portions are large - 3 eggs is the standard for bacon and eggs or omelettes.
Skylon Tower AWFULLLL~! (Niagara Falls-REVIEW)
Sounds like a horrible experience! My wife and I have made a rule never to go out to dinner on Valentine's Day - too crowded, and too many couples all strungout trying to have a "special night". No, thanks!
What to do with ground beef tenderloin?
I'd say no to tartare as what the butcher has likely ground up is all of the fat trimmings when he trimmed the filet. I'd try to make a gourmet burger from it.
Has anyone been to "Port" in Pickering
I've been there 3 or 4 times. It's a very beautiful place, with a formal dining room, a bar/lounge and an outdoor patio overlooking the bay. Food is ambitious and generally very good. Service is erratic.
Nota Bene - Amazing experience yet again - review + pics
Had dinner there on Friday with my son. We loved it. The Tuna Tatare, Heirloom Tomato Salad, Pickerel, Beef Ribs and Beets were all excellent. Good service as well. Thanks for the recommendation, BokChoi.
Any store in Ontario that sells hard to find chips?
Did Soda Pop Central have any hard to get Canada Dry pops like Collins Mix, Lime Rickey and Bitter Lemon?
New spot in South Pickering?
You may be thinking of a new building that's being built behind the condos on the west side by Paul Shannon Caterers. It's an event building for weddings, etc. - not a restaurant.
