Applewood smoked bacon or just great smoked bacon?
I need some for a dinner party, to go with a pork tenderloin recipe. Any ideas who has a great one? I've tried the usual groceries, Wegman's and Trader Joes. Someone suggested Shady Maple in Lancaster.
Any thoughts?

Step by step and with pictures. And they tell you WHY you need to do something. I learned to cook, and take chances, by waitressing at a high end restaurant. My first dish, fetuccini Alfredo, took 6 different tries to make it stop tasting like Mac N Cheese:) Not that that is a bad thing......

Wonderful place for lunch around Wayne/Devon
We are looking for a great place in the wayne/devon area to take our firend for lunch. Her husband has been very ill for 4 months and she needs to go someplace pretty and light-hearted that serves alcohol:) We are looking for great food and NOT a staid atmosphere. Lunch in Bethesda for breaking Mom out of the nursing home!
Day after Thanksgiving we want to take her out to lunch. Please help! We would like to get good thai, but really anyplace that is not noisy. She likes all but Indian fare and we want her to have something different from the the usual diet she has been getting. So fresh fish, Italian, wahtever.

Chabaa Thai Bistro, Manayunk
We went there for lunch today and were delighted with our choices!
Fresh Spring Rolls were very fresh (and crisp.......)
Sai Grog, a Nothern style thai minced pork sausage with lime leaves, lemongrass, garlic, cilantro was a party in your mouth
We also had the Pad Krapao with fat, soft noodles, chicken, veggies and ground toasted red peppers, thai chilli peppers. AND Pad Kee Mao with shrimp. I can't decide which was better. All togehter our bill was $36.00 (one soda) and I have half of mine in the fridge:) I am not a Thai perfectionist, but if you enkoy the fresh taste abd delicate layers of flovors, you should try it. www.chabaathai.com

We will be staying at the Doubletree (8120 Wisconsin Ave) over Thanksgiving. What we really like is to go out and bring back bakery and coffee to our room. Any recsin the area?

My 23 yo daughter is trying to get her first apt in Chestnuthill and she is turining into quite the foodie. Is this a fun area for that age group? It's been so long that I have been there but remember it as a cool place with great bars and restaurants. Still true?

No, no! Firhouse was going to be our choice, we loved their 6 sauces on the side (after tasting a lot!) We just had to take a chance on Blue Rhapsody. I'm thinking of them as "boutique" BBQ:) If you love the stuff, try them for a get together..........

In anticipation of a double graduation, we tasted more BBQ than I would like to admit. Finally went with Firehouse BBQ out of Kennet Square and a guy from South Philly, Rhapsody in Blue Smoke. Rhapsody won, hands down with 50 out of 60 votes. Fireside was very good but the other place was over the top. Apparently they use only peach wood, make their own rubs, marinades and sauces. Also small butts:) Let me know if you want contact info for your next party. Very, very reasonable. Very nice to work with!
They will also be at the BBQ cook off on August 23rd at Citizens Bank Park) at the Garry Maddox/Neil Stein Barbecue Cook-off.

Ha! I'm an idiot! The other prices were per person, not per pound. The going rate spans $5 to $12.75.

I love Mabel's! But they charge $12.75 a pond which is mire than double from other places.......It just doesn't sit right.........

We are renting a house 5 minutes north of Nice in June. When we have done this in Italy we have had great luck finding a local person who will prepare a family style dinner for us. Nothing fancy, just good local food. We are an extended family of 14 with 2 children.

Mayday! Whole pork tenderloins!
I am making the Praline Pork Tendeloin recipe and I a always use the the 1 to 2 poung tenderloins but these are 8 pound tenderloins and I am cooking 1 and a half of them. Any thoughts on how long I need to cook these guys?

50th b-day party finger food....
The guest list has hit 25 and I can't do a sit down dinner. I need ideas for a wow factor heavy appetizer (because I can't spell the other word) People who are attending have done the little filet mignon sandwhiches, it seems the lolipop lamb chops are out of my price range for that many people. And one of the guests of honor can't eat fish........HELP!
