You should really check out KBQ BBQ in Bowie, MD as well as Willards out by Dulles. If you are in Baltimore Andy Nelson's is a must go.

Crystal City dining
I live in crystal city, (Hellburger is rosslyn fyi).
If you want pretty good sushi I would suggest Bonsai Sushi on 23rd Street in the heart of Crystal City. I would say for good bar food head over to Crystal City Sports bar, for good ethnic food head to Kabob Palace and if you want good steak go to Ted Turners.
Also Cafe Piazolla as has been mentioned is a very solid choice.
Kloby's Smokehouse - Near Columbia, MD
Klobys is ok. To my taste I think in the DC area KBQ (Bowie,MD), Urban BBQ Company (white flint mall area in MD), Willards BBQ (out by dulles) are the best....now if you're in Baltimore--- Andy Nelson's is still the best.
Also worth mentioning is both Johnny Boy locations (different owners but similar ribs)...there is one in SE and another farther south in Maryland.
Rocklands is overpriced and not that great (though good sides)
Still have to try Big Bad Wolves in Baltimore as well.

Recently we went to Urban BBQ Company inbetween Rockville and Bethesda. They also have a location in Silver Spring.
It was pretty tasty and had a unique bark/sauce. Also the cornbread was great, the mac and cheese was average.
KBQ has some great smoked ribs and they have the best mac and cheese around (Rocklands has good mac and cheese as well, but the ribs are so so and OVERPRICED!)

Just to update...Alabama BBQ in Baltimore has closed down. Klobys BBQ has moved from Baltimore to Laurel (same location where Smokey Hollow BBQ was for those of you who remember that place).
BEST MACARONI AND CHEESE?
I think that Rocklands (rib joint) has some pretty great mac and cheese.
Good Restaurants in Amsterdam?
Going to amsterdam in a couple weeks. Please let me know what you think are the top places?

The butcher over at the bailey's crossroad is great that I think has been mentioned already.
Nice but casual place to take parents in NoVa
You should def go to Ted Turners Grill (location in Ballston and Crystal City)....everyone will enjoy and well priced for great quality.
AVOID Malibu Grill like the plague!
Malibu Grill is pretty bad.....now Fogo de Chao is an amazing place (pennsylvania ave). I truly recommend it, well worth it.
Where are the Region's Best BBQ Ribs?
Must have had a rare, but bad cut there. Been there a couple times the past month or so and both the ribs and pulled port where still the best i've had in the region here.
Best BBQ in N.VA (non chains)
Anyone know of any good bbq (ie shack with amazing bbq) in Northern VA? I know about dixiebones, but lookin for others. Been to the chains in arlington and such so lookin for something off the beatin path. Thanks
