Best New York shopping for Kosher l'Pesach kitniyot
there used to be an israeli makolet on st marks place just by tompkins sq park [diagonally across from hummus place] - not sure if still there - holyland market ??? may have been the name but they sold kitniyot.

Trader Joe's 12pk Spanakopita only has a KD on the box but the company informed me that it is certified by Rabbi Yisroel Kelemer.
I called him and it was confirmed.
Not sure why the Company doesn't use his symbol on the box.

Kosher at LGA
If you happen to be at Terminal C [US Airways] the CIBO Express shop near the foodcourt has lots of kosher salads and sandwiches - all around $8 or $9 or less and very tasty and fresh- tuna salad, chicken salad etc. Star-K supervision. They also have some vegan thai dishes with K-
Parve designation. The salad comes in a round container and the tuna is kept in a separate container within so that if you are vegetarian you could get this and toss the tuna without fear that the tuna came in contact with the salad [which was delicious]. For some reason the kosher options are not highlighted so you have to look for it but apparently it has a green rather than blue label. Now if only the other terminals at LGuardia would have kosher options too.
where to buy kosher fresh mozzarella in manhattan?
trader joe's has under tablet-k supervision in balls in brine or in logs.
also fairway has cappiello OU supervision.

Toddler friendly restaurant on UWS
Blossom on columbusand 83rd is very accomodating [its attached to kidsville] as is Peacefood on amsterdam and 82nd. Additionally the Hummus Place branches are both good too but the one on amsterdam and 75th is hard to get to with a stroller. wooden tables, nothing breakable, otherwise make it a good spot. I have two small kids and have been to all.

I called the company and they said it was Kosher and supervised locally [Peru]. the symbol does look like the outline of the map of Peru with a big K in the center but I never saw this before. Has anyone?

Buenos Aires
the abasto mall has a kosher mcdonalds next door to another kosher mall type fast food joint.
in palermo neigborhood next door to the chabad there is a pizzeria/italian restaurant called el pasaje which is next door to a meat version. both are very expensive geared to tourists. around the corner is a kosher sushi place Tib Tuna at Argerich 404 and down the block is an ice cream parlor called Persicco at salguero street which has kosher flavors listed on the menu.
Parrilla Al Galope is the most famous grill house and they take credit cards. it is located in the "once" neighborhood at Tucumán 2637 [Tel. 4963-6888]. a block away is Restaurant Mamá Jacinta at Tucumán 2802. you can walk around the neighborhood and find lots of groceries, restaurants and bakeries.
and if you eat vegetarian, there are some actually terrific vegetarian [not hekshered] restaurants to recommend.
gluten free pesach products
last year we bought the gluten free oat matzah AND MADE OUR OWN MATZAH MEAL BUT we bought delicious cakes and cookies from http://www.shabtai-gourmet.com and they had bread crumbs too and we also currently buy from http://www.katzglutenfree.com

pinisi's in the east village - it is a hole in the wall but unbelievably good. they also have gluten free products. no baked goods only pastries.

sandwiches and platters.
they are small but thave a lot of seating because they put seats along the wrap around counter.
a little slow to get the orders out but might be due to being new.
not sure you can't get everything there elsewhere for less.
my pet peeve: burger price was listed at $6.65 and they charged me $6.75

MIKE's on 92nd and Amsterdam is offerring Gluten Free pizza. $15 for a 13 inch pie [larger than individual pie]. Very Good. same topping choices as regular pie, only the crust is different.

and I don't know if they are still kosher, but Orwasher's on 78th st and 2nd ave was bought out by a former Tribeca Oven baker. they specialize in artisenal breads.

they are experimenting with a new gluten free pizza crust made from a local vendor.
for someone with severe celiac's this wouldn't work but for those who for other reasons are gluten free [and keep kosher], this is a first.

I was walking past Viva Herbal [2nd ave and 12th st] and noticed a sign offering gluten free pizza. This is an experiment and if it works well, they may offer it uptown at their Bway & 97th st location. The downtown Viva is cholov yisrael. Please enocurage them !
