Romantic Steak dinner?

I'm not a big steak-eater myself, but REALLY enjoy Bond 45 Italian Steakhouse at National Harbor. Steak tender enough for a butter knife.

Very snazzy place with good sides, service and dessert. Great for date night or celebrations.

best pizza that's not Two Amys

Hopefully, its better than the Laurel (Route 1) location -- where they suggest that you request that your pizza be prepared "well done" to avoid uncooked dough and soggy toppings.

Fort Dupont Ice Rink, SE - any options?

I was just going to suggest Rays the Steaks (that smoked-fried chicken is AWESOME!) or anything along Barracks Row (8th Street, SE). You can find all sorts of food (burgers, pizza, shakes, etc) and cuisines (Asian Fusion, Italian, bar food) while you're there.

Yes! Organic Market (**The Fairlawn store is closer to the Rink than Capitol Hill, but they're both located ON Pennsylvania Avenue, SE) has a sushi bar, if you're in the mood. You can even grab a bottle of celebratory wine on the way back to Baltimore. (I highly recommend Barefoot Sweet Red for about $5!). They also offer FREE garage parking.

Fun breakfast place in DC

GREAT lunch and dinner. I never though to visit for Breakfast.

DC - Need recommendation for dinner and breakfast

(I actually LIKE Filomena. *waits* LOL)

Dinner: Old Ebbitt Grill is nice -- just in case you change your mind about the "bistro" part.

Breakfast: Luna Grill & Diner serves huge waffles and fresh fruit ANY time of day.

Got approx. $250 to spend and need a great restaurant recommendation

*latepass*

Had I read this sooner, I would've recommended Bond 45 (National Harbor) Italian Steakhouse.

Oopsies!

Quest for Mexican Restaurant with White Cheese dip

Try Banana Café and Piano Bar or Las Placitas Restaurante (both on Barracks Row on 8th Street, SE) for a nice, chill "sit-down" spot. El Tamarindo (Adams Morgan) might be more up your alley.

Otherwise, there's always California Tortilla. I actually like their con queso as much as the others I mentioned.

Yes! That's pretty much my meal, when I'm in the mood for "bar food".

Late night in Georgetown

Have you tried Georgetown Wing Company (upstairs)/Crêpe Amour (downstairs)?

Recs for dinner Ct Ave & Military Road??

Out-of-towners seem to like Maggiano's Little Italy for Italian fare. Big portions. Good taste. Great (read: strong) cocktails. Perfect idea for large groups and celebrations, but still "dark" enough to be romantic (well, sorta...it can be a bit noisy at dinner time.).

Just minutes from Military Road.

Good call.

help: DC business dining on Feb 14th

Since Valentine's Day falls on a Monday, you MIGHT get lucky dining during Lunch. Let's hope, for your sake, that the romantic diners will chose the previous weekend to play footsies in public.

Some restaurants - Bond 45 - are using their regular menu.

Best place for a drink in Dupont?

Kramer's has GREAT desserts and cocktails. The Raspberry White Chocolate, Cheesecake, Apple Crumb Pie and Carrot Cake are to DIE for! Wash it down with a Cherry Limeade (subtle) / Loosey Goosey Cosmo (strong).

Yum!

I love the atmosphere. I've only dined outdoors, but there's PLENTY of indoor seating. Believe it or not, parking is usually a breeze during late hours.

Restaurant near Capitol for large (30-40ish?) group

B. Smith's is located IN Union Station and has plenty of room for large groups.

Art and Soul, adjacent to Liasion Hotel, is another good spot. Please, please, please call ahead. I've never been there on a "slow" day (even during the week).

Brunch @ 8407 Silver Spring

The service IS super slow, when there's only 3 people (2 of which were already eating) in the joint. The menu is pretty limited, but the Challuh French Toast with Summer Berry Compote was good.

Good Food

Check out Tamipico Grill for good tex-mex and cocktails.

In addition to Ethiopian, is there a particular cuisine that DC is known for?

(Not sure what happened...) Lauriol Plaza doesn't accept reservations and there's ALWAYS a crazy wait. While its worth it, sometimes I just don't have the time TO wait.

Anyone been to Art & Soul lately?

Try Acadiana's Sunday Brunch Cajun (Bloody) Mary. Formerly part of their "Parking Meter Special" ($.25), its now on the $1 -- which still ain't half bad -- Brunch Cocktail Menu.

I always lose count of my Blood Orange Mimosa intake. (Don't judge me!)
