There is a Lappert's ice cream in San Diego in Scripps Ranch.
San Diego New Places Opening
I went the other night one of the best italian restaurants i have been to in san diego. All the desserts are hand made by the owners wife. The chocolate tart is too die for.
Help! GOOD Downtown Dining
Currant American Brasserie has a wonderful happy hour. The burger and steak salad are both very nice.
Going to the Oceanside area tonight and looking for Thai
What is the best Thai in this general area including vista and Oceanside and San Marcos if it's really worth the drive. This is my friends first time having Thai so a really good pad Thai and curry. No dried out or gummy and fatty meat. I've gotten a few reccomendations so far charming Siam, sarika Thai, and cafe de Thai.
Babycakes in SD : . Babycakes in NY?
Babycakes in Hillcrest is the worst cupcake I've had had in San Diego. Each cupcake I had was dry and the frosting was way to sugary and artificial tasting.
Best croissants in San Diego?
Petite Madeline Bakery in Oceanside by far. They have a cinnamon roll that is very similar to the one at Bread and Cie but I think its better. its a croissant rolled in the shape of a cinnamon bun with cinnamon sugar.

best 2 days of food in Santa Monica Area and beyond
I will be staying in the Santa Monica Area next Wednesday and Thursday. I need two lunches, two dinners, and two breakfasts, and of course bakery spots for snacks in between. One dinner I am taking a date on so of course the food has to be innovative but I also want the ambiance and space to be beautiful (preferably in West Hollywood). The farthest I want to drive is 30 minutes but of course they're exceptions.
So far for BREAKFAST I have:
Square One Dining, Griddle Cafe, BLD
Bakery:
Joan's on Third because I saw the Coconut Cupcake on the Best Thing I Ever Ate on Food Network, Arleen's Cupcakes also seen on Food Networks Cupcake Wars
For Lunch I don't really have any Ideas
Dinner:
Wood Spoon for the Chicken Pot Pie seen on the Best Thing I Ever Ate on Food Network, Simon LA, Osteria Mozza, Jitalda Thai Restaurant

Breakfast during the Week
Because most of the places that I like only offer Sunday Brunch and I would like to know a good breakfast spot that I can enjoy during the week.
Breakfast during the Week
What is your current favorite breakfast place that serves breakfast during the week and what is your favorite thing to get there? I love brioche french toast, fluffy butter milk pancakes, and waffles with strawberry and whipped cream. I like the cinnamon french toast at Isabela's Cantina in Pacific Beach; buttermilk pancakes-Cafe on Park, and vanilla french toast- Cavaillon.

Cavaillon Restaurant
14701 Via Bettona, Suite 200, San Diego, CA 92127
Rancho Santa Fe Farmers Market
Yes I've been there is definitely not much there because it takes place in a parking lot. But what they did have was good quality, I liked the Eclipse booth.
Late weeknight in San Diego
Saigon on 5th is also open late in hillcrest. One of my favorite restaurants in town everything is very fresh.
Horrible meal at Alexander's in North Park
I was in the area and me and my gf were in the mood for italian food so we decided to give it a shot. We really like the ambiance and the lady at the front was nice enough to bring us two complimentary dipping sauces with our bread. The bread was average it was good enough to be dipped in balsamic and olive oil. My gf ordered the fettucine alfredo with chicken and broccoli. The chicken was nice and moist but the sauce was so salty that she probablly drank about five glasses of water and could only eat a few bites of it. I got the baked spaghetti with mozarella I sent it back because it was way to salty. Instead I got the angel hair with wine sauce and that just tasted like salty water with old tomatoes thrown into it. I was very dissapointed so I sent it back also and decided to just have a few bites of my girlfriends dish. Thats really all I could have because It made me feel sick. Overall the food was horrible but the server and front of house were very nice and attentive.
DISSAPOINTED AT SAB-E-LEE
I don't expect more than a replacement or even a replacement that was more expensive then what I purchased at the beginning. But to have to put my point across for 10 minutes and kept being told we can't replace it because you alreaddy ate it is ridiculous. Asking for a little more sauce for the money I pay I don't think is unreasonsable at all. I am not asking for impossible requests just simple things that any good business would do to keep customers happy and coming back
DISSAPOINTED AT SAB-E-LEE
First off I didn't complain about there portion sizes; I like their portion sizes so I don't gorgue myself. Im talking about a side of sauce for a dollar that barely fills up one spoonfull is dissapointing. I dont' mind paying money for sauce if I feel like im given the right amount. Yes Koby and his family were very nice until I had a problem, if you have a problem with something you order which may never happen you will see what I'm talking about. I didn't eat half the dish I had one bit of one roll. The point was he wouldn't take it back because he couldn't sell it that was the worst excuse I have ever heard. You should always put your customers first and thats what I'm getting at with this post.
DISSAPOINTED AT SAB-E-LEE
I love the quality of food at this place but now I find the customer service to be so bad that I don't want to go back. The first 10 times I went there I didn't have a problem but when I got some spring rolls to go and ate one in the car I realized the shrimp didn't taste right. I go back inside and tell him the shrimp does not taste fresh can i get something else he said no mam you already ate one so I can not sell it again. Then I said to him how would I know without tasting it if the shrimp was bad? He said the same thing again and went to go talk with a lady in the back. He then asked me what I wanted but in a way that he didn't want to make me anything. I ordered the hawaiin fried rice then he said to me no you can only get the regular fried rice when they are the exact same price. I waited there for a while then finally got my fried rice and it defintely wasn't a regular portion size. Another problem I have with the place is that they're stingy. I really like the sweet and sour sauce that comes with the spring rolls so I always order to sides of this when I'm with my gf and it costs me a dollar each. They give me about one dolop istead of being generous. I usually have to order more than two for me and my gf. I just want some sort of customer service for going there so many times. On the way out i asked for a little sweet and sour sauce because I decided to get three and he asked me for a dollar but gave me half the regular size I just didn't bother saying anything. I still eat here because the food is fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced. I just feel that is you don't think something tastes right you should be given something else so you leave happy.
San Diego/La Jolla - Anything new and wonderful?
I agree, I have had nothin but good meals there. I don't know what this pasta dish is called but its rigatoni I think with tomato cream sauce, bacon and eggplant. Its absolutely amazing. I've also had there pasta with meat sauce that was a special and it was made perfectly. There salads are not that great but their bread is really good.
Best bacon in San Diego?!
Basically the only bacon I eat in san diego is on the BLT at gourmet bagger. By far my favorite sandwhich in San Diego and the crisp bacon is amazing on it.
FINALLY WENT TO HODADS
I finally went after I heard so much hype about it, from the foodnetwork, newspapers and other various sources. I had heard so much about the long lines and long waits but it moved pretty fast which was good but still the 30 minutes I had to wait wasn't worth it. I think there shakes are good but there not reallly shakes just a scoop of ice cream with melted ice cream below it. I also like there onion rings but don't think there burgers are anything special. The group that I was with ordered every hamburger on the menu. The bacon cheeseburger was okay because bacon and cheese have so much flavor in itself but I wasn't expecting the kind of bacon that came on it, it was thick and hard to chew. I had the cheeseburger and once I was half way through with it I decided I wanted to take the tomato, lettuce, and onions off because I had enough of it. After I took everything off I was left with a burger patty that was slightly bigger than Mcdonalds what a dissapoint and this place isn't that cheap either fror the quality of food and enviornment you are in.
