Love Anne Burrell

I like Secrets of a Restaurant Chef too. She has a strong yet fun style of cooking. Out of every single female chef, I like Anne Burrell the best.

You go girl - snap around and a high five =P

She should be on TV even more! Ciao! =)

I'm SO glad I didn't watch it.

Besh on TLC

Oh goodness. I ruffled everyone's feathers. Calm down - calm down.

My parents rarely took us out to eat. I had to eat my mom's cooking which wasn't the best.

I was a former dishwasher promoted to cook. The chef taught me how to cook - not my mom.

I didn't learn how to cook for a dumb man. I learned how to cook because I was given the opportunity.

I know Chef Besh from being a contestant on Iron Chef. I'm sure his show will be successful. Famous chefs always do very well in life.

Besh on TLC

I didn't know about it until I was turning the channel to TLC and saw it coming on. He's an impressive chef but I couldn't watch. The first couple - the wife who couldn't cook - was unbearable to watch. I could NOT believe a woman in 2010 didn't know how to cook.

Didn't Gordon Ramsay have a show like this too?

Lunch in Paris: A Love Story with Recipes -- book by Elizabeth Bard

Thanks for the book information. I've never heard of the author but the story sounds interesting. An American woman in Paris dating a French man. When you said she feels invisible at the parties, does that mean the French don't approve of American women?

I'll see if my library has this.

Sandra Lee could be the next first lady of New York?

Good for you Sandra Lee! You were once a nobody, became famous on TV (Food Network), published cookbooks, and managed to wrap your long legs around a wealthy, famous politician!

Way to go girl!

Bartender Etiquette - Dining Solo at the Bar

I have also dined solo at an upscale bar/restaurant and have never been asked to move. I've sat the bar and at a small table and found sitting at the bar was nicer because I didn't have to scoot my chair in or move to let people walk by.

It was rude for the bartender to ask you to move while in mid entree when there were seats available to the left and right of you.

No tip for him/her.

I don't have XM radio so I won't be listening. Thanks for posting for those who do have XM radio!

Get ready for more Guy Fieri

Why should I dislike the Food Network? What have they ever done to me?

You must realize how many people in the world watch that channel. The Food Network makes millions of dollars. They must do something right.

Ramsay Cookalong (LIve?)

It was okay. I like Hell's Kitchen MUCH better. I like the mean, foul-mouthed Ramsay. He's more funnier that way.

He's entertaining. I like him.

Look at Gordon Ramsay. He's entertaining too. I like him as well.

Entertainment that is exciting is what people like. Blonde spikey hair and a loud voice.

Lights! Camera! Action!

man vs food?

I don't get it either. The man eats abnormally large meals and gets to be rich and famous.

Andrew Zimmern, etc. I guess eating can make you RICH AND FAMOUS!!!! WOOHOO!!

I think he's a slob. But hey, he makes more money than I do. Maybe we should all quit our normal day jobs and eat like elephants so WE can get wealthy!!!

Next Iron Chef Finale - Spoilers

I was surprised. I was hoping Chef Mehta would win but I'm glad for Chef Garces.

I think the judges didn't know what they were talking about. It's EASY to sit there and eat someone's cooking and say, "Too salty," or "Too bland."

Good luck to the new show.

world's sexiest chef -- now for your viewing pleasure on bravo. debut 11/16/09

I watched this show this morning and had no idea who Chef Novelli even was!

Sexiest chef? Not in my book, thanks. Anthony Bourdain will always take that title.

Oh my gosh, this group of students are laughable!

Who could cook an egg? Too messy. Too burned. Not enough time. Garlic in scambled eggs? Yuck.

The blonde older lady from Orange County is so ditsy. Someone her age shoud dress like someone her age.

There is a former porn star on the show??

The spacy woman who left a piece of hair in her meal. Why isn't ANYONE wearing a hair net?

You are not supposed to cry in front of the Chef! What a bunch of girls.

I'm not sure if I will watch Chef Academy again. I'm not impressed.

I'd watch Top Chef again.

Bourdain - Egypt - last one of the season!

I liked this episode. The food looked good. The dessert peaceful. Too bad about the sailboat on the Nile goof but it still looks like an interesting place to travel to.

Egypt looks mysterious and ancient and beautiful.

I'm looking forward to Season 5.

Silly Eating Habits

Fun topic :-)

Only silly eating habits I can think of at the moment are:

Haribo Gummi Bears have to be chilled in the fridge to get the hard chewy-ness I love

When eating a banana, I never eat the ends.

When visiting an ice cream or frozen yogurt shop, the only toppings I like are Gummi Bears

Hot dogs have to be Nathans and only Dijon mustard on a toasted bun - that's it.

Ice cream/frozen yogurt is never scooped out and placed in a bowl. I eat it right out of the tub.

Entre Nous in Seattle (French cuisine)

Serves the BEST Ratatouille ever!!

Located at 216 Stewart Street (walking distance from Pike Place Market)

Absolutely the best service I've ever had! The chef came out and talked to me and I was asked how my drink was. The waiter is from France and talked with me and made me feel so comfortable and welcome.

Romantic and small and loved the French music in the background.

The bartender made an excellent French Martini.

Feels like you're in France.

I will definitely go back and only wish it were closer to where I live. I'd eat there every day!

Anthony Bourdain on tour?

I didn't pay anything to see him at The Nasty Bits book signing. I won't be attending the event at the Moore Theater. I'll be out of town that weekend. Are you going?

Anthony Bourdain on tour?

My first book signing event was on June 13, 2006 in Seattle when Tony Bourdain was on tour promoting The Nasty Bits. BEST EVER! Sat in the front and stood in very long line to have him autograph my copy. His assistant, Beth, took photos.

I always buy his books. He's my favourite writer/chef/traveller/actor

Throwdown with Bobby Flay

I saw the wedding cake episode too.

The other night I watched the Chocolate Chip cookie throwdown. Bobby and his team lost but did you see the HUGE chocolate chip and walnut cookies the contestants made? They looked delicious! I knew they were going to win. It was a good show.

Anyone else going to buy Italian Grill by Mario Batali? I know I am :-)
