4 Nights in Vegas - Too Many Choices - Help!

Thank you! I have Payard down, I think Spago is in Caesar's too, I don't have my notes with me. Bouchon Pastry will be seen the day I go to Bouchon and I'll check out Jean Phillipe later today.

4 Nights in Vegas - Too Many Choices - Help!

I'm going for 4 nights at the end of next month. I've chosen (so far, as of right now): Bouchon for dinner, Olives for lunch, Picasso for dinner, Spago for lunch, casual dinner the first night with a dessert only at Paris. That leaves one more dinner, but that depends on what we find on the night we do old Vegas.

I am so excited! Thomas Keller and Todd English! I've only cooked out of their books, can't wait for the real thing.

Now I'm researching chocolate shops and patisseries.

Cocktail Nerds Rejoice: Real Quinine-Flavored Elixirs

Quinine pills used to be prescribed by Dr's for leg cramps caused by Cholesterol drugs. They no longer prescribe the pills, esp. if you have heart problems. As a result, the grocery stores (at least in Orlando), have a hard time keeping tonic water stocked. Ergo, the popularity just might have more to do with leg cramps than malaria!

Caramelized Honey - So Good! (moved from L.A. board)

I know this is old, but it popped up for me. Just take a lb of honey, add a Tbsp water, a couple drops of lemon juice and gently simmer until it changes color. Let it simmer a minute or two longer, swirl, and take off the heat to pour into a container. No clue as to why there would be additives, the water helps prevent scorching, the lemon juice will slow down crystallization.
