Stopping in Portland - foodie recs, best of Portland

I would echo just about everything JillO has said about PDX options you can't get in Seattle:

Lunch - Do the foodcarts at SW 10th & Alder or Kenny & Zuke's
Dinner - Apizza Scholls and Screen Door are both amazing

...or see what Portland's legendary happy hour scene has to offer (check UrbanDrinks.com).

Additionally, if you happen to see the Koi Fusion (Mexican-Korean) food cart pass by - chase it!

Lobster Bake Law

Does anyone know what the regulations are for cooking on the beach in Maine - or how well they're enforced? I'd hoping to do a pit barbecue/lobster bake with friends and family and would hate to have it shut down by the Coast Guard... anything about location above/below mean high tide line, etc?

cheap ethnic eats in Portland

Asmara Restaurant is located just one block from the Portland Museum of Art and serves the best Eritrean/Ethiopian food I've ever had. It is an unassuming venue, but don't underestimate the flavor. The lamb is legendary, and the vegetarian options are also fantastic.
