What's your "Subway" sandwich?

I can't have Subway anymore after being diagnosed with celiac disease (I miss you, bread) but my favorite was always turkey on Italian herbs and cheese with spicy mustard, tomatoes, green peppers, pickles, banana peppers, and jalepenos, with vinegar and oil. Mmmmm!

Applebees

I waited tables at Applebees while I was in college, and can't eat their food since. Nothing wrong with it, just around it way too much.

I always liked the salads and crispy orange chicken bowl. The "riblets" were strangely addictive.

BK fiddles with their fries again...

I will likely not be able to try them, since I have celiac and can't have gluten. I miss fast food french fries....I usually only get them at Five Guys, since the only food they fry are fries, my risk of cross contamination is low. But I always thought Burger King had terrible fries, haha!

My Five Guys Apprehension

I actually went for the first time last week while visiting my husband in Charleston, SC. I was really, really impressed! They have a big array of toppings to choose from bacon, caramelized onions, etc.- I stuck to the basics - ketchup, mustards, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onions. We shared the fries (they are huge!) - they have a board in the restaurant where they write the name of the farm where the potatoes come from that day as well, which I thought was kind of neat.

The burger was good. (haha, I even commented to my husband that it kind of reminded me of Burger King because of the bun!) The plain fries were good, nothing special, but good and crispy, not soggy for us.

I definitely think there are much worse places to eat, and you will likely NOT be disappointed! I hope you like it!

What do you drink at a wedding?

Thanks so much to everyone who responded! Our wedding went perfectly, and we had plenty of alcohol!

We ended up going through 48 bottles of wine - a mix of Chardonnay, White Zin, and Merlot, 4 kegs of beer, 12 bottles of tequila (shots, anyone?) 4 bottles of rum, 1 bottle of gin, and 2 bottles of whiskey - plus 6 bottles of vodka.

We did a champagne toast at midnight, and went through about 12 bottles there as well.

We had 225 guests.

Thanks so much! You all are great!

What do you drink at a wedding?

Hello everyone :-) I am getting married in 9 weeks, on New Years Eve. Wow, it's coming up so fast!

We are having an open bar, and can bring in our own alcohol. We will be providing beer, wine, champagne, and mixed drinks - we are also providing several non-alcoholic options such as tea, coffee, lemonade, soda, and water.

We have hired a service that provides all bar set - up and mixers, but since they only have a license to serve, not sell, we are required to bring in all alcohol.

So to help us estimate quantity, tell me what you like to drink at weddings, or just events in general. We want to make sure our guests are well taken care of.

Thanks in advance!

How is the food prepared at chain restaurants?

I worked as a server at Applebee's while I was in college a few years ago. Most everything was frozen.

What's the best dish you've ever eaten at a chain? What surprised you most?

There are several chain dishes that I like.

I love the pasta fagioli and Olive Garden. I love their salad too. I like the flautas at Chevy's, the Bloomin Onion at Outback, the Southwest Egg Rolls at Ruby Tuesday's....
