Best Sushi - Collegeville/Limerick/Phoenixville

Having eaten multiple times at Bluefin Ooka and Umai This is no doubt that Umai is the best of these.
The best fish and the best preparations..
Usually get Sashimi Omakase but the rolls and other dishes
are always very good.

Umai in Lansdale, PA

I have been a regular at Umai for several years.
The sushi/sashimi here is always excellent.
Some great rolls , sashimi specials that you won't find at
other restaurants.
Have eaten at all the sushi places in the Philadelphia area
this is definitely one of the best
Just happened to be at Bluefin last night Good sashimi
but significantly smaller portions than Umai.

Revel - Atlantic City

We have had 3 meals already at Amada The
food is excellent. "bland watery food""
Far from it. Have tried at least 20 items on the menu
and all have been delicious
Also had one meal at American Cut which we also enjoyed

Revel - Atlantic City

Forgione's Steak House American Cut is open now
Had one dinner on the 2nd night they were open.
Beautiful space. Good service. Had a bone marrow appetizer
rib eye steak and mushroom side.
All the food was delicious. My go to place has been Bobby Flay's
This is a little more formal feel to me.
Nice bar,. Also I appreciate the no smoking casino.
I think the Azure also just opened but have not tried it yet.
Village Whiskey Amada, Distrito Cantina, Mussels are all open.
Price are a little higher for everything including the spa than
at Borgata

Good eats in the greater Atlantic City area?

Here is my review of two places in Margate
Since I did this review I have be back to both
several times.
The food at Fisch kitchen is excellent
Often they have a lobster roll with fresh back
soft roll which is fantastic
but all the food is delicious
Much more of a Chowhound place that Smitty's
Smittys is decent casual fish place and a fun place
to go but the food is nowhere near the caliber of Fisch
kitchen

Two new restaurants recently opened in Margate. The first, Fisch Kitchen, a casual, comfortable, byob, seafood place with top-notch food, where you order at a take-out window and eat under cover at funky picnic tables. The menu changes daily based on the availability of fresh seafood. Everything we ate over three meals, from crab cakes to smoked scallop salad, roasted black sea bass, shrimp and apple salad to blueberry tart and chocolate chip cookies, was fresh and beyond delicious.

The second, Mangos, is a freshly painted space where Dune used to be. We enjoyed chips with fresh green salsa. The grouper, steamed in banana leaf served over coconut rice was tasty as was the Columbian Tipical, grilled flank steak (skirt steak on menu, but it was 86'd) with rice, beans and a fried egg

Cantina Feliz Cooking Class

Had dinner there last night. Spoke to Brian Sirhal (owner) said that there were
only two spots open for the cooking class but he thinks they will offer it again
since they got such a great response..
Had one special beef tongue taco and the new to the menu squash blossom
enchilada Both were delicious.

It's getting close! Cantina Feliz

Had dinner last night. I have been to Distrito many times and really love it.
The menu at Feliz Cantina is certainly similar. We started with Atrichoke Huarache and Cerviche Verde both were excellent. Followed with Calabazza and Corn soup which was delicious.. Elotes Loco ( crazy corn) an ear of grilled corn and a slight spicy mayo and cheese dressing was fantastic.
Had Caldo Res short rib in a garbanzo bean stew was good but not
my favorite dish of the night.
Service was professional. Leah our waitress was very attentive.
Brian Sirhal co-owner was working the dining
room and came over to our table.
Only hiccup was the some how our Caldo Res order got lost temporarily in the
kitchen.. When the staff realized they made an error they brought out
a complimentary Huarache BBQ chicken which was my wife's favorite dish.
Cost for two $75 including two glasses of wine , no desserts and plenty of
food. Definitely need to have the whole roast pig...

An amazing place , very well run , terrific food all on the fourth night that they
were open.
Fortunately it is only five minutes from our home.
Will be regulars for sure.

Best restaurants in the Lansdale area?

Just have to put in my 2 cents for Umai. Fantastic sushi and
sashimi . Excellent friendly staff and sushi chefs.
I think it is better than Bluefin.

Business dinner

Looking for a mid week restaurant for a business
dinner. Needs to be a fairly quiet spot , of course
great chowhound food. Price not very important
but not looking to impress anyone.
Anywhere in the city is fine.
Thanks

New Asian bistro coming to English Village in Montgomeryville

Had dinner there on Friday night
Have to disagree. I had assorted sashimi which
was fair at best. The quality and freshness of the
fish was far below that of Umai or even OOka
The service was good BYOB and the offered us
free wine and beer which was nice. The music was
a bit loud for me.
I would not return.

Maize Restaurant in Perkasie

Went for dinner Friday night with friends. Bread came to table, biscuits with some corn flour were fresh hot out of the oven and fantastic served with butter and local honey. Next pan seared scallops served with asparagus and vermouth sauce, perfectly cooked and delicious.
Tasted my wife's split pea soup served with smoked pork was also very good. Friends enjoyed two different green salads which were good.
I ordered duck served with quinoa and oranges/cranberries and duck jus
also a great dish perfectly cooked.
Also tried the crab cakes which were very moist and flavorful.
The bison was fantastic medium rare and tender with swiss chard.
Had for dessert a cheese plate and the chocolate terrine a mouse like
treat with a subtle pistachio sauce .
All in all the meal was wonderful. One of the better restaurants in the
philadelphia aree. Food was about $75/couple (BYOB)
The only area that needs a little work is the waitstaff , young not
much experience yet. A little out of the way but well worth the drive....

Saffron in Ambler

Had dinner there on Sunday night. Food was very tasty and
well prepared. There service was attentive maybe a little slow.
The staff certainly were very helpful. My wife did not finish her
Lamb biriyani which was a good sized portion and the staff asked
the food was ok because she had a lot of leftovers.
Will definitely return

solo long weekend for adventurous eater

would definitely recommend you go to at least one of Jose Garces restuarants for
dinner. http://grg-mgmt.com/ (Chifa, Tinto, Amada Distrito) I have eaten at all of them except Chifa which just
opened. The food is always fantastic, excellent service and atmosphere.
You can eat at the bar at all of them I think.
Would not come to Philly without a stop at one of these.
Also love Horizon's definitely can eat at the bar there. Before they
moved the restaurant into town I had eaten there almost weekly for a few years
the food is delicious even if you are not vegan/vegetarian.

2 nights at Borgata!

Over the summer we had 2 dinners at Izakaya. The food there is fantastic.
Not cheap of course. The main room with the bar is quite loud( they have a dj) but the back room with the grill is not too bad. The grill items(ROBATAYAKI) are terrific especially the lobster. We really liked the edamame dumplings but just about every dish was excellent the only dish we did not care for was the seafood stew. We did not have sushi or sashimi so
I can't comment on those dishes.
I have eaten at Bobby Flay many times and have always enjoyed it but it is very expensive maybe more that Izakaya.

Knife Sharpening - found - Philly burbs

I have used a Chef's Choice electric sharpener for many years
It is very easy to use and puts a sharp edge of my knives
It was top rated by Cooks Illustrated. You can sharpen your
