Reminds me of the best chicken salad I'd ever had at a party. Apples, (red & green, with skins on) halved grapes, toasted almonds, diced cooked chicken, (not that crud out of a can!) light touch with the curry, real mayo, fresh lemon, fresh pepper, minced green onion. I've also added various additional ingredients such as shredded carrot, minced celery, minced red onion, raisins, etc. (not necessarily all at the same time tho.) Fabulous. Thanks for reminding me!

Liked to buy them at Boudin's in the Richmond and also Schuberts. Here in Sacto area try Danek's. All very different but good....

I found this discussion and couldn't resist asking how it went, and what menu did you end up with? Were folks in costume also? Just love old recipes and the 40s are a top favorite.
