Banh mi in Wmsburg?

I went to Banh Mi 172 on Bedford and N8, and it was excellent. The bread is super fresh, the vegetables perfectly crisp and pickled, and the service was very quick and friendly. I would recommend a #2 if you want an authentic cold cuts banh mi experience. But I really recommend a #5, the barbecued pork. It's so tender and flavorful.

Also, their Viet coffee is very good as well as their Vegan Roll, which is a summer roll, but Vegan. Make sure to specify that you want Peanut Sauce instead of their vinaigrette sauce for the vegan roll. The peanut sauce is just better.

Anyways, I'm a huge fan. This place is going to become one of my staples what with its cheap prices and late hours.

i can't wait for the Pho place to open up next door.

Looking for excellent, organic produce in/near Williamsburg

I'm frustrated by the produce I've found in Williamsburg. Tops has a passable fruit and vegetable selection, but nothing mind-blowing. Sometimes I go to Marlow and Daughters for the arugula, mesclun greens, and whatever fruits they're offering. It's AMAZING, but they never have much of a selection. So, I'm asking: Where am I supposed to go to find a broad seasonal selection of great, organic produce in Williamsburg or the surrounding areas??

Also, is there any place that I can get very high-quality deli meats, like homemade roast turkey, in the area?

Top Five Dishes in Williamsburg Brooklyn

These days, some restaurants in WIlliamsburg food scene rival the best of what's out there in Manhattan. Williamsburg natives or anyone who has investigated the W-Burg Food scene, what are your top five favorite dishes in Williamsburg? We are looking for the real world-beaters here.

Here are my five:

1) Roast half chicken and Tuscan Kale in a garlic white wine au jus) - Roebling Tea Room (Metropolitan and Roebling)
2) Chorizo tacos - La Superior (Berry and South 2nd)
3) La Victor Arepa (they don't always have it) - Caracas Arepas (Grand and Havemeyer)
4) Pork Sausage - Fette Sau (Metropolitan and Roebling)
5) Bloody Mary (it's the best Ive ever had!) - Diner (Broadway and Berry)

Honorable mentions - everything at Fette Sau, the mexican corn at Bonita, the shawarma sandwich at Oasis, the homemade tofu at Zenkichi, and an everything bagel at 4am (fresh out of the boiler and v. hot) from Bagelsmith, Oslo Coffee

La Superior - New Mexican in Williambsurg?

I've been, and it's excellent. And great service.

The tacos are very authentic Mexican "street" tacos. The ingredients are fresh and good quality. and everything is well priced. Tacos are $2.50, Guacamole is five bucks. There is an excellent cactus salad.

Clearly, its main competition is Bonita, and so I must address here how they compare. And, I would say this: It's better priced, more consistent, and the chicken is MUCH better-tasting. The chicken at Bonita appears to be boiled, but at La Superior, they use a more classic pulled chicken with a lovely chipotle sauce that packs a nice amount of heat. The guacamole is comparable to Bonita's, I would say.

Overall, really good. The place should be a mad success. It's already very busy and seems to have a loyal clientele even though its only been open for five weeks. The owner is always there and is very accommodating, and its open super late on weekends, until 2am I believe.
