Are Costco's Kirkland Foods Any Good?

My Costco has the Kerrygold Irish butter, so win-win there. I get my canned tuna from Costco, too, but the Cento brand.

Shake Shack April 2011 Flavors - Any Must-Haves?

I agree you wouldn't know there was pistachio in there. Kind of disappointing if you love pistachio. Basically tasted like a lighter cherry garcia to me.

"Quality Meats"?

My meal was also paid for, so I loved it. I think it's overexpensive for the steaks and if meat is your thing, there are better places. But the appetizers and sides are great. They have a creme brulee corn thing that is delicious and also a very good bone marrow dish. They are more creative than your usual steakhouse, the service is gracious, and the interior is gorgeous.

Egg cake lady

she was never really there past mid-afternoon, i think, because she would just work till she ran out of batter. she was not an overachiever because i really think she could have created a franchise if she wanted. My sister had them once when she visited from out of town and she still asks about her.

Casual lunch near Madison and 32nd?

Artisanal is right around there if you like cheese. You could share a fondue at leisure.

Food deliveries in East Harlem

Thanks for responding. I'll try them again since I only ordered delivery for lunch once. Maybe they were off.

I forgot to mention Polash for Indian.

Food deliveries in East Harlem

Sushi Suki all the way down in the 80s will deliver up to East Harlem. They are wonderful and super fast and my favorite place to order from, albeit a little expensive. But it is good sushi and their specialty rolls are really good.

I also like Cafe Ollin and Jalapeno deli, as mentioned above. And for simple hearty fare, Pee Dee's, which is like food for cops at very reasonable prices.

I ordered from Gong once and didn't like it. Should I give them another chance?

Any nice places for friend chicken? Possibly Korean friend chicken?

Kyochon on corner of 32nd and 5th actually gets kind of swanky in the evenings.

Cheeky Sandwiches – Amazing New Orleans stlye sandwiches in the LES

Their egg and cheese biscuit is my favorite egg sandwich in the city. They put hot sauce in the eggs. It's the small things. The biscuit itself is pretty great and they have Zapp's chips for those of you looking.

Shake Shack March 2011 Flavors - Any Must-Haves?

Tried the Afternoon Tea flavor on Sunday and loved it. The tea flavor's not too intense but tastes just like milky PG Tips tea. At first I thought you'd really have to be a tea lover to prefer this over the regular vanilla, but then I hit a raisin and some some bread bits with crystalized sugar and realized they broke up a scone in there, so it's really indicative of the name. I would definitely have this again.

Staub in teal @ Anthropologie

i think it is more green. it's more peacock. i really like the le creuset caribbean but staub is even prettier, color wise. their glaze is shinier so all the colors seem to have more depth.

How to Make Fijis

Fromageball, I noticed as well that they're not as good as they used to be. I think they stopped using transfat.

Would you bother returning a Le Creuset pan if...

Thank you, both, for your quick replies! It's nice to know it's no big deal as it's so heavy I really didn't want to take it out. I had that nagging thought it should be perfect since it's a "lifetime investment" but now I can just take it as a sign of hand craftsmanship.

Would you bother returning a Le Creuset pan if...

I just got the Le Creuset 3.5 dutch oven buffet pan/braiser and see that it has specks of paint inside on the beige enamel. It's about 4 tiny specks of the Caribbean color, so I am presuming it's paint rather than damage in terms of the enamel wearing off.

Is this a common occurence I should overlook or should I exchange it? (I got it from Macys online, which is the same source for another poster who found damage on the exterior of her pan. Maybe it's just a coincidence since they are being shipped straight from the factory, in my case anyway.)

Making Orange Julius at home?

El Barrio juice bar makes a delicious one. They use evaporated milk and a dusting of I think nutmeg.

If you had four days in New York before you dieted what would you eat?

I would most definitely go to Madison Square Park where special food kiosks are set up till November and have the fried chicken biscuit sandwich from Pies 'n Thighs. It was amazingly good with honey butter and hot sauce.

I would also go to Joe's Shanghai in Midtown--yes, the midtown location is way better than Chinatown's now--and have the crab/pork soup dumplings and the Lion's head meatballs.
