Great Cocktails on the Big Island?

Our last visit to Don the Beachcomber will be our last visit there. Disappointing cocktails. Beach Tree, Roy's at Waikaloa, believe it or not Forrest Gumps in Kona, and Daniel Thiebaut's are the best bet for west side cocktails. For an unexpected treat of magnificent cocktails, try Hilo Bay Cafe on the east side of the island. If you are visiting the volcano, Kilauea Lodge. Or book a special dinner for four at Mahinui Na Lani - private pavilion at the volcano with ono tiki drinks, all fresh.

Honeymooning on Big Island, Where to Eat?

Holuloafarmer gave you some great tips.

There is also Roy's. The oceanside spots tend to be sort of disappointing. In Kona, Fishopper is nice for lunch.

Huggos in Kona is good for oceanside, although sooo very touristy. Daniel Thiebaut's is wonderful, but may be undergoing renovations.

Elsewhere on this island, Hilo Bay Cafe and Cafe Pesto in Hilo are very nice. Do not be put off by the location of Hilo Bay Cafe - you will forget all about it once inside.

Ginger Mojitos for a Crowd

If you can get your hands on organic cane sugar for making the syrups like this, it's worth it.
