Thanksgiving suggestions?

Too late for this year....but Jonathan's on Long Island turned out to be a great spot. Prix fixe for Thanksgiving with all the trimmings -- or order off their menu. They had a crush of people but managed to honor reservation times, not rush anyone and provide attentive service. I'd go back!

I-78 Travelers -- A great stop

Just 5 minutes off I-78 is a great spot for lunch or dinner (but just Wed-Sun -- they are closed Mon & Tues). The American House Hotel restaurant -- a nice surprise in Hamburg, PA. We intended to see if we could find the "perfect hamburger" in Hamburg....but The American House Hotel restaurant's menu changed our minds. They do have a hamburger on the lunch menu....but the crab cakes on a bed of grilled corn and peppers and pan seared duck breast changed our minds. Located in one of the oldest buildings in Hamburg there are lots of period details to like -- but the food takes center stage. The attentive service was a plus as well. They also have a nice wine list with reasonably priced choices. Definitely better than settling for the often less-than-great restaurants located along U.S. highways! They have rooms as well -- tho' we did not check those out.

Ideas for afternoon dinner on Thanksgiving Day -- near Amityville maybe? thanks!
