Burgers Priest to open West End Location I was hoping for Kipling too! Although there's already some heavy burger competition there with Apache Burger, Gourmet Burger Co and Royal Meats all within 5 minutes of each other. |

Kiwi berries aren't in season yet. You'll probably find them closer to the end of August / early September. Highland Farms carried kiwi berries last year, although they were of the more tart variety. I've also seen posts about people finding them in Chinese supermarkets like T&T. I pick up my kiwi berries at Rock Garden Farms on Airport Road in Caledon. They carry the soft, juicy sweet variety that I like best. |

Union Social Eatery - Mississauga - any comments? Haven't been there myself yet but I work in the area and several co-workers have gone there and continue to go back. I've heard food is good but the only con is that it gets loud and busy as pointed out in an earlier post. Going at 11:30am seems to help the problem a bit. |

Niagara-on-the-Lake. 3 great dinners? Whatever you do stay away from the Shaw Cafe!! |

High-end-ish restaurants near the airport... ? I went to Zorro's about 5 years ago for a business lunch. It was meh in my opinion. Close to the airport there is a Keg restaurant on Dixon Road. Also on Dixon is a high-end Chinese restaurant called "Grand Chinese Cuisine" inside the Double Tree hotel. Other than that it's mainly mid-priced chain restaurants surrounding the airport. If you're willing to travel the distance to Via Allegro (just ate there last weekend...delicious!) there is also La Castile Steak House & Tavern on Dundas. It's like a huge medieval church/castle on the inside which makes for good table conversation. |

Has anybody tried their family style menu? Do you recommend it? |

Best Fish and Chips - Mississauga Walker's Fish Market!! They have 2 locations in Mississauga. I go to the Streetsville location. It's about a year old and spacious. I go there for fish and chips all the time, it's a winner! And the staff is really friendly too. |

Out of all these places listed, which is the best for a "nice" sit down meal? Are any of them non-divey? |

What's happening at 971 Ossington (near Hallam)? This place looks good, I'm already reading 5 star reviews elsewhere even though they JUST opened. I called to make a group reservation for Easter weekend (my birthday!) but unfortunately they are closed that weekend for the holiday :( |

Best Chinese BAKED buns in GTA? I have a suggestions of where NOT to go: Queen's Patisserie (quality going downhill) and Gloucester (extremely rude service). |

It's where Michelle's Brasserie used to be. |

How much do you tip in Toronto restaurants? I tip 15% before taxes. 20% is for service that was really good or for my regular severs at my favourite haunts. I find 20% to be a bit much to be considered norm. I work hard for my money and I'm not about to hand over 20% to somebody who took my order and only checked up on me once. Those people are lucky to get 15% actually. |

Brunch Ideas for New Years Day? Thanks for all the suggestions! We ended up going to C5 at the ROM. |

Brunch Ideas for New Years Day? I'm looking for a nice brunch spot in and around the Toronto area that will be open on New Year's Day (Sunday). Any suggestions? |

Jerusalem Restaurant Opening on Matheson Blvd? I saw an "Opening Soon" sign for Jerusalem Restaurant on Matheson (near Dixie) in Mississauga. The font looks the same as the Jerusalem's on Eglinton West. Does anybody know if this is the same restaurant and if so, when the opening is? It would be awesome to have a location closer to my house, the one on Eg gets so cramped and noisy. |

Just as an update, it's now carried at Walmart too! |

Luci Restaurant in the former Momo's Bistro space (Queensway & Royal York) I miss Momo's :( |

I think they're closed for good. I went by on my way home from work after seeing this discussion eager to try the macarons but the place was empty. Only the built-in display cases remain. Lots of finger and hand prints on the window from people cupping their faces to get a better look inside. |

Where can I find Kiwi Berries? Local Ontario kiwi berries can be purchased now and they won't be around for too long as their harvest season is over. I discovered them last year at 'Rock Garden Farms' in Caledon (http://www.thehillsofheadwaters.com/rockgardenfarm/mem-welcome.php). They currently sell for $4.95 a clamshell (half pint). However, I also found them at 'HighlandFarms' last weekend for $2.99!! Both places are supplied by 'Schouwenaar Orchards and Vineyards' (http://www.smallfruit.ca )'Rock Garden' sells the 'Anna' variety of the berry while 'Highland Farms' sells the 'Red Princess' variety. This is my new favourite fruit! |
