Table 21 worth it?

Glad you enjoyed it. We loved it. Another great Volt meal is the five course brunch tasting menu. Spectacular. We had a 13 year old foodie with us and she loved everything. And the wait staff treated her as an adult.

If you were forced to spend a big zero birthday working....

Proof is remarkably quiet (ask for a table in the back) and I second all the raves about the food.

What are some "shouldn't miss" dishes at Proof?

How funny. My brother and his husband from Rhinebeck just passed through DC (where we work) and we ate at Proof. Any dish with duck confit, gnocchi, and the escarole salad. The charcuterie plate also was awesome. The maple sugar pudding...yum. My husband had the crispy pig head (croquettes, not the whole head)...very delicious. Obviously I am a fan.

Early dinner near the Academy of Music

I am making a very quick trip for a concert at the Academy of Music. I am looking for a quiet, lovely place for an early pre-concert celebratory dinner for four on a Saturday evening. Thanks for suggestions.

Upcoming 40th Birthday Dinner

I have been to Potowmack Farms several times and it is excellent and not too stuffy. You eat in what used to be a greenhouse. Volt is always lovely. Shab Row in Frederick is also always lovely.

We have made this simple and tasty recipe several times. It also works with some fish and chicken. http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/foo...

Grafiato is great. I also like Zengo. I have never been there but people rave about the happy hour at the Source.

Post if you made something for the first time today!

Tortillas and Baltimore coddies. Oh, Elvis Presley's favorite pound cake ( recipe from Saveur).

Looking for recipe from Gourmet NOT in Epicurious

The recipe used fresh (raw, cooked) kielbasa, not smoked. Is that right-ALL recipes are on Epicurious? There was another I never found either. Thanks for trying, but neither of those is the one!

Looking for recipe from Gourmet NOT in Epicurious

Somewhere between 1985-1990 I used a recipe from Gourmet for a potato salad with Kielbasa. I recall cooking the potatoes in beef broth and the dressing was olive oil and vinegar. Have tried to recreate but am missing something. Does anyone have the recipe?
