No Pound Plus 72% at TJs??????

I'm a crewmember at TJs and have been waiting for the 72% Pound+ bars, too. My Captain told me they're stuck in port (which port, I'm not sure) but they're on the way.

Check back on Sundays (when they print out new order forms).

Taking the heat out of my too spicy chili

Simple answer: FLOUR.

Put 2 tbl. regular flour in 1/8 cup of cold water. Dissolve (it should kinda look like smooth glue). Pour into chili as it cooks and stir. Wait a few minutes and taste. Repeat as necessary.

Flour mixed in water mutes the taste of most strong ingredients in any stew/soup.

BTW, it'll thicken whatever you add it to. Just an FYI.

Local, pastured, humanely-raised eggs, chicken and milk

Took pkoslyn's review and braved the wilds of Silverlake for those eggs ($6/ doz). They have a true urban farm there and the chickens were in coops (though a few were roaming the yard). I met the hens and got a doz. multicolored, different sized eggs.

These eggs are great-- bright standup yolks, thick whites and none of the bland taste of supermarket eggs. Call ahead and bring your own egg carton (if you can). You'll not get fresher, humanely-sourced eggs anywhere.
