Thanks everyone! I think I'll give the Duncan House a pass. Too bad when a place that was once known as a great place either doesn't keep up with the times or relies on its past laurels.

Has anyone been to the David Duncan House? Is the food any good?

Tried Terry's today for lunch. Pretty good egg salad sandwich! Friendly staff. Will go back again!

Used to go to Sisters all the time because we lived in the neighbourhood. Was there a few weeks ago and has changed hands. Some old favs but beginning to lean ethnic, which is not bad. As the waitress told me they are changing to fit the area.

Anyone know of a place in east Toronto/Scarborough where one can get ordinary Canadian food.
You know, sandwiches made with two pieces of ordinary bread, not an onion bun, wrapped in a pita or naan. I do like ethnic foods, but it would be nice to be able to go out to a place that has pork chops, meat loaf, BLT's and egg salad on the menu. Food Mom used to make, that is if you grew up in Toronto in the '50's/'60's!

Any good, authentic Italian restaurants in Scarborough or North York?
