MSP One Night
Thanks for all the recs guys!
So it looks like we'll get a hotel in the downtown area then. It sounds like all of these recs are in that general vicinity.
MSP One Night
My bad. You mean you can't read my mind thru the internet?
It'll be me and another buddy on the way to a fishing trip. We're definitely not looking for any white linen dinners. More than anything, we're looking for a geographical where we can get a decent dinner and a couple drinks.
We're both from Texas, and wouldn't mind grubbing on some local fare (not even sure what that is). We'd probably like to keep dinner in the $25 to $50 range (per person).
MSP One Night
I'll be passing thru Minneapolis on the way to a Canada fishing trip and was wondering if I could get a few recs on dinner/bar. We currently don't have a hotel reservation because we're not sure where any of the hotspots are...
We'll be flying into the airport and are thinking that we'll be staying downtown, but are open to any ideas.
Any info would be appreciated.
Houston - food "challenge"
The first that comes to mind is the Mega Mel. You eat it, you get your name on the wall:

Private Room in Dallas area for 30th Birthday Party
Try Newport's Seafood. http://www.newportsrestaurant.com/
We had a birthday party for my wife there a couple of years back and had a great time. They have a private room and will work with you on various options for price.
Houston to Dallas Roadtrip
Woody's is always a must stop for jerkey in Centerville. BBQ isn't good but the jerkey is great, especially the buffalo. Also check this previous thread: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/92546
Restaurants in Humble, TX
Please keep em' coming. I just moved to Humble on Friday. I need all the recs I can get. Any decent Thai in the area?
Barbecue -- Mueller's and Cooper's
I've been going to Cooper's for 15 years now, and finally decided to try the BBQ Prime Rib (based on the above suggestion), and must say WOW. It really is something special. I was the first customer to get a chunck of this massive prime rib sitting on the pit. The pit master went directly to the middle of this beast and cut a nice juicy slice. What a great find! Thanks for the heads up!!!
Best Tapas in DFW
We've always loved Hola off of Mckinney. It always delivers a consistant great time.
Rehearsal Dinner [Dallas area]
We had a birthday party in the back room of Newport's Seafood. I think it was around $40-$50 a head. Great food and wonderful service. The building itself is a an old brewery. It has a lot of character.
Lakefront Dining in Dallas
The Harbor in Rockwall has recently sprung up. It has the newly opened Blue Canyon, Gloria's, Dodies, Agave a couple of Itialian places and some other chains. It sits nicely on Lake Ray Hubbard and offers a great view of the sunset.
Hill Country weekend...
I'll be that way in a couple of weeks. I can't wait to get my fill of Coopers!!! I love that place.
I'll have to stop by HillTop Cafe as well
Fredericksburg - Recomendations Needed
This suggestion isn't for your special dinner on Saturday, but if you have some extra time on the way out of town (and like great BBQ) I'd suggest making the trip to nearby Llano for some Cooper's BBQ. It's definatley worth it!!!
Maya Mexican Kitchen- Yum, Yum, YUM!
I too tried Maya recently and was quite impressed. It's really refreshing to have a restaurant of this caliber in Rowlett.
I highly recommend Maya to those passing through our little town.
Texas Hounds need rec for Pebble Beach area
Hello, we will be staying at the Lodge at Pebble Beach for an uncle's 60th birthday, and are looking for a great restaurant to celebrate.
Any or all recs will are appreciated. I'm completely unfamiliar with the area, but another couple have spent a lot of time there. I'd like to be able to offer a few suggestions for dining.
Thanks.
Vegetarian Places In Dallas
There are some really good reviews of upscale Veggie dining on http://www.dallasfood.org/
Places to eat in Bryan/College Station
I second Heber'ts. Nothing fancy, just good. Great pot roast sandwich! I miss that place!!!
Best Korean food in Dallas area
What (if any) places have some good Korean food in the Dallas area?
zanata - rockwall
I went a couple of weeks ago. Very good. We had the pizza and were very pleased. The table next to us ordered a steak that looked outstaning! It's nice to see some quality restaurants out in Rockwall.
Texas Pickles: redux
My grandmother does that exact thing, but not w/ sweet chips. She uses regular dill, then slices them and "re-pickles" w/ sugar and Tobasco.
County Line BBQ in Garland
I've been twice, with two completly different results. The first time was absolutely great! The next time, the service was terrible. Our food came out first, then the salads and finally our drinks came out last. The manager did make it up to us by giving us a free desert.
I suppose I need to go back and have a tie-breaker.
