Pork medallions with spatzle in Innsbruck, Austria. I was a teenager and my family was driving from Italy to Germany when we stopped for dinner. I had so many awesome meals in Europe (my dad was stationed there for three years), but the memory of this meal makes my mouth water to this day...and I'm far from being a teenager anymore.

Anything that can cheesily be described as rustic: rustic pasta, rustic bread, rustic roasted meats... I think "rustic" is just the modern term for anything made by someone taking their time and doing it right.
