brunch/baptism

I've been disappointed by the brunches we've tried in Alexandria (Old Town). However, if Arlington is okay for your special event, we have been to several times (for both brunch and dinner) and highly recommend Tallula 2761 Washington Boulevard.

This is their brunch menu: http://www.tallularestaurant.com/menus/documents/TallulaBrunchMenu2012-01-08.pdf

Best of luck in finding the perfect brunch spot for your happy event. :)

Jan. 21, 2012, Saturday
9:30am-5:30pm,Luther Jackson Middle School, Fall Church, VA

Chinese New Year Festival in Washington, DC area is sponsored by Asian Community Service Center annually. The festival includes indoor events with cultural performance including dragon and lion dances, delicious Asian foods, workshops on Chinese cooking and language, health and business booths, and children’s activities, among other attractions. Admission is FREE.

The eve of the Chinese New Year is when the whole family gathers together. Northern Virginia has large Asian communities. No matter where we are from, our hearts are together with our families, particularly during the Chinese New Year.

Good place for upscale casual lunch in DC?

Zola, Potenza, Bibiana, Vidalia. Have fun.

ACKC closing

Something very strange is happening in DC - a lot of closing this year and /or companies cancelling plans to open in DC. Yet in suburbs outside of DC - this is not the trend. I think the DC landlords are ruining what was starting to look like an interesting shopping/dining/cafe scene within DC proper. Very sad.
