Where can I buy Bundaberg Ginger Beer in Dallas, TX?
The Soda Gallery definitely has it (was there today). World Market also carries it.
LA Hound coming to Dallas
Lanny's is over in Fort Worth and Mansion is in Dallas, so you are looking at about a 35 mile drive. Lanny's is close to the Camp Bowie Road and University Drive intersection, so you can take IH-30 west to University Drive and go north.
Best, authentic Mexican in San Antonio
Even the worst mexican food in San Antonio is better than the best mexican food in Boston! I work for a company based in Boston and my cohorts have taken me to a few places "so I can feel at home." It is a lot different than what you get up in NE.
One thing you will get from San Antonians is a wide definition of what the best mexican food is, much like Bostonians and their chowdah. Here are a few of my faves:
1.) Rosario's - it is a funky place near downtown on Alamo St. Not your typical tex-mex, so it is a little closer to authentic mexican. This is my favorite place. http://www.rosariossa.com/
2.) La Fogata - nice patio if only the weather is warm. My wife is not from SA, but this is her favorite. http://www.lafogata.com/HomeLaFogata.htm
3) La Hacienda de Los Barrios - a little on the outskirts, but pretty good tex-mex. The original Los Barrios is more central. http://www.lhdlb.com/
Make sure while you are in San Antonio you have some breakfast tacos. A good place is Taco Taco: http://www.tacotacosa.com/index.html
Fusion Masala in Southlake
Has anybody tried this place? It is the only Indian place that I can think of in the Keller/Southlake area, so I am wondering if it is any good.
Need Recomendations near Grapevine (Dallas)
Definitely stay away from the chains like Red, Hot, and Blue, Spring Creek BBQ, Dickeys, and the like. There is a good place in Southlake (not too far from Grapevine) called The Feed Store - http://www.feedstorebbq.com/ . It is on White Chapel Rd, just south of Southlake Blvd (FM 1709). We go there quite a bit.
There used to be a place just a little south of Grapevine off Hwy 121 called Railhead Smokehouse, but I am not sure if it is still open. Of course if you could stand to drive a little, there is always Angelo's near downtown FW and a place called Main Street BBQ in Euless. Angelo's is cash only and Main Street is only open on Fri, Sat, & Sun. Main Street is also buffet style and their ribs have won many awards in various cook offs.
Best Fried Chicken in Dallas?
I believe Babe's does brine their chicken. There was a write-up about them in Texas Monthly I believe and one of the questions was something like "how does your chicken taste so good?" I remember them talking about their brining because I started experimenting with brining after reading that story.
Good places around DFW airport
There is a really good BBQ in Southlake called The Feedstore. It is on White Chapel Road just south of Southlake Blvd. Other than that, there are only chains for BBQ.
For Mexican there is MiCocina in the Southlake Town Square and there is also a new Uncle Julio's in Grapevine over by William D Tate & 114. Anamia's in Southlake is pretty good.
