Best Croissant in SF/Bay Area?

Fleur De Cacao in Los Gatos may beat Bay Bread IMHO. Theirs is really flaky, small and the almond is awesome.

Great Clean place for Mole, Cabrito and Yucatan food in West San Jose

Found a great small place near my office, Tu Mero Mole. Here is a map link;

Whats so Good?
1) Clean
2) Very fresh homemade Mole, Cabrito(goat), slow cooked potk, real red snapper from the gulf in the tacos
3) Tortillas made in house
4) Salsa bar with great peanut slasa, pickled onions, escabeche and grilled jalapenos as well as traditional salsas

Nice colorful bright place. Really good and helpful staff. Sort of borders taqueria and restaurant. Food come quick and they have a bit more than a simple taqueria. Locally i have been a number of times to Andale, burrito factory, Chipolte, Adelita's, una mas etc.. and this place really shines.

Best Supermarkets in San Jose?

We like the Farmers markets(Saratoga, Campbell and Mountain View are huge) , Trader Joes of course Whole Foods and Lunardi's. Lunardi's is a good small local chain. Produce is really good there, second to Cosentinos and often less expensive.

Chipotle definitely makes my list of chains that are worth a visit. We got o the one on Union. To correct a few errors/omissions from my earlier post. I think the place on Stevens Creek is just called Falafel House. Their shawarma is great. At Ramen Halu its important to try the halu soup. Choi's we usually get the bul go gi and a pancake. Most indian places, including Rangoli, we usually do the Lunch buffet. Sushi Maru we usually get Sushi but they also have a great stewed pork called kakuni.

Wow, you frequent a bunch of the same places we do. We are a family of 3 near Los Gatos. First off the Mexican. Try Dia del Pesce on Bascom in West San Jose. also Adelitas on Curtner, Campbell.

Indian; Rangoli on Union is really good as are a number of the other recommendations posted.

Choi's has great Korean, it's just off Lawernce On El Camino, Santa Clara Side.

We eat a lot of Japanese. Sushi Maru in Japantown is a great value. Owner is the same as for Maruichi. Have you tried Ramen Halu? On Saratoga, A bit pricey but the ramen broth is very unique.

Chinese: Shanghai Dumpling on Saratoga Sunnyvale is great, especailly for Xiao Long Bao, a Shanghai specialty, pork stuffed dumpling, served with red vinegar. Also, I second the recommends for Fu Lam Man on Castro.

Vietnamese: Vung tau in Downtown San Jose is a real institution and very good.

Middle Eastern; Try International Falafel, on Stevens Creek in Cupertino. the owners are Kurdish. The wraps are the best around.

all of the above are moderate priced for everyday eating out.

What we have found living down here after being in SF for years is that some Chain places are not that bad. It may be sacrilege on CH to say it, but I like PF Changs, Cheescake factory and Armadillo Willys(on a good day), also Wahoo fish taco and Rubios

best authentic indian food in the bay area?

Lived in India for some time and cook it a lot at home. Having lived Berkeley, SF and South Bay, I say South bay is way ahead in terms of Indian

Northern: Amber, also Shalimar on El Camino in Sunnyvale, And Rangoli on Union in West San Jose. Turmerik is not bad but its been awhile since I visited.

Southern; lots now centered in Sunnyvale; Srvana Bhavan On Mary in sunnyvale, Madura also not bad. Humble but very authentic, Swatdi Tiffin on Lawrence in Sunnyvale. Within 2-3 blocks of Swatdi are several other southern places. Mynt definitely not bad, Goa influenced. Komala vilas in Sunnyvale a good place for tiffin meal.
