$10-$15 dinner around Yonge and Bloor

I don't think I've seen New Yorker Deli mentioned. When I'm in this area its generally where I go for dependable food on the cheap. Basic deli fare...

ISO metal plates

Good ideas, heading to Gerrard now. Tried Tap Phoung first. They had stainless steel bowls, plates, trays, etc in nearly every size and shape except the kind of standard rimmed plate I was looking for.

ISO metal plates

The guy at the restaraunt supply store said, "like you get in prison?"

That is what I'm looking for--like in some indian restaturants. Has anyone seen them around?

Cups too.

Lunch to go on Bloor-Danforth Line, 9AM or earlier

Back to work after the long weekend, I am looking for recommendations for grabbing a lunch to take to work that is a quick stop off of the Bloor-Danforth subway during the morning commute (9AM or earlier). I used to stop at Le Gourmand at Yonge and Bloor to get a sandwich to take with me but with that closed, I'm looking for other ideas...For my purposes, anywhere between Keele and Pape is ideal, but all suggestions on the subway are welcome for others who might be ISO the same.

This resembles the dine and dash thread but a bit different and as far as I could see no one had posted a similar req.

Toronto's Best Italian?!?

We've found bar mercurio pretty spotty. We had a great meal there about a year ago but went recently and had really bad service and the food was bad in strange ways. We both ordered seafood pasta. While my pasta came swimming in a sauce so salty that I didn't finish it--a huge pile of it gooped on the dish carelessly, my partners had very little sauce. Strange things like that.

Who sells wild mushrooms in the West end?

I'm sure you have already had your feast but I just remembered that Urban Harvest has a new store open on Sorauren at Garden and they carry wild mushrooms, fresh or dried.

I don't think Macedo has a webpage. They may have what you are after, but it would definitely help to speak portuguese. . .

New Pickles? Are they only in NYC?

Just bought some new dills at Benna's. They were okay, but not as good as the ones made at home! Just needed some to tide me over until the ones I've got pickling are ready. See http://www.wildfermentation.com/resou...

Who sells wild mushrooms in the West end?

There is a mushroom vendor at the North market at St. Lawrence who carries all kinds of mushrooms, oops, I see now you are looking for in the W end. Ko on roncesvalles has some mushrooms, and Benna's, also on roncesvalles, carries dried porcini's at a very good price. I have only had fresh porcini's once, but from that experience, I felt that it was better to dry them as the flavour becomes more concentrated.

Italian wine grapes

You could try Macedo on Ossington, but you might need to order ahead. For winemaking? Grapemasters sells through fermentations on the Danforth. They also carry fresh juice, though mostly from argentina, chile, california, etc.

Canning salsa verde?

as with origional post. . .I have a lot of tomatillos ripening at same time. I'm thinking of harvesting them all, chopping with onion, hot peppers, coriander, vinegar, and salt and canning. I dont want to process very long because I think the vinegar and salt will do the job,

works?
