Did Top Chef Masters season 3 ever air on FN Canada? I noticed that it's still not available on iTunes Canada. And neither season of TC Just Desserts is available either.

It's not just a TV thing or a drama thing. This sort of thing happens in real life too. Cuts - sometimes bad ones - and even worse injuries happen in professional kitchens all the time. Fast forwarding through the offending segments is the solution for those who can't handle the truth.

I figure if the chefs who cut themselves can handle it, why shouldn't I be able to. It helps me to deal with the inevitable cuts and burns that happen to me as a cook.

Yeah, Les Halles and Le Bernadin are two completely different types of operations. I've been to both and I enjoyed both places were what they were. I thought Les Halles was pretty decent - not the dive the some people make it out to be and not as good as Bourdain might want you to believe either, but somewhere in between.

You're right about Brooke and Katie Lee. I also think that Sasha Perl-Raver is very attractive as well.

I hear it's a good fish for eating. So, let's try to eat it to the point of extinction. It doesn't belong to region anyways.

I think "silverfin" is a terrible name though. Gaggingly terrible. The suggestion of any sort of metal is unappetizing and "silverfin" reminds me of silverfish which are some of the grossest creatures ever to slither on the Earth. What about calling it Shanghai Bass or Jumping Jumbo Mahi?

Padma may have an aloof attitude, but I don't mind her at all. She's a feast for the eyes and fun to watch, eye candy for the men and some of the women in the viewing audience.I'm sure there are others who have more culinary cred, but really isn't that what Colicchio is there for? I like Jacques Pepin and Sara Moulton as much as the next person, but as Top Chef host? No way. Padma fits the job description just fine.

Based on ingredients and freshness and my limited exposure to both places:

Burrito Boyz - overrated, a disappointment

Chipotle - underrated, a pleasant surprise

If I only had one evening in Toronto and wanted to spend $40-60 pp, I would definitely eat at The Black Hoof.

If I were planning on spending a bit more, I would choose Colborne Lane.
