Is Kopi Luwak available in Seattle

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kopi_Luwak You have got to be joking. Litter box coffee??

I guess Coffee Primero is a brand that makes a synthetic version by mimicking the enzymes or something-o-rather. http://www.coffeeprimero.com/public/i...

Actually, this kid seems to be enjoying it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28PRET...

Japanese breakfast?

i guess i missed that part. It was at a ryokan, in Nikko. I pretty just ate raw egg or natto on rice otherwise, because i was stuck in my brother's apartment on the other days.

i thought you were saying nobody eats those anymore, period. I was like, hang on! That was my favorite part of the ryokan!

Noodle Boat

My Yelp core group of friends always go here, and make events to go here. But i hate driving to Issaquah (and always get lost trying to do so or run out of gas trying), so i have yet to give up the fight and try it.

This post is weakening my resistance, though.

Szechuan Trend?

i totally just had some cold sliced pork ears from Bamboo Garden in Belleview for my late breakfast today. *sigh* So good.

I think Spiced is my favorite place, though, so far, for Sichuan. I live in Edmonds right now and have been to Szechuan 99 once and have tried their fried whole tilapia and cold trio, but not much else. Have you been?

On Business to Lynwood

Sorabol is a fantastic Korean joint on Highway 99 in Lynnwood (close to Edmonds' end), and has gotten even better after their remodel.

Craving SPICY

Spiced in Old. Bellevue. Hands DOWN. I loved it.

That's my recent review on it. My face was literally tingling, as if bee-stung. I haven't had Sichuan like this before!

No matter what, #1 will always be dungie crab.
Not cleaned. I want that tomalley and crab butter.

Seattle delicacies

This kind of stuff depresses me:
Eating dried-out, cleaned-out, hacked-up restaurant crab that's being tossed around by the masses in a restaurant chain, and then being charged an arm and a leg for it (pun intended).

Go to Ranch99, get a dungeness out of the live tank for $3.99, and have them steam it for you for free. Then it's really fresh, really tasty, and you get to enjoy the tomalley and the crab butter.

Anthony's and Arnie's are great if you're over 70 and can't taste your food, and have enough money to throw away on it.

In need of new meats

Way better, and cheaper, frog leg appetizer at LA Cafe on Jackson in China Town!
Their menu is kind of insane...but trust me, get the fried frog legs in spicy salt under the app menu. http://www.pacificrimseattle.com/laca...

I've had frog legs at at least 5 restaurants in the Seattle area and this is still my fave place to go. And free parking is nice...it's in the Pacific Rim building.

Bill the Butcher, "Coming Soon" to Edmonds

i am more of seafood gal...i am not the best at cooking a steak. I can do liver jut fine, but i would rather learn with cheaper meat than with premium, you know?

Le Bete?

Nice review and photos on Yelp! I was hoping the egg would be up there. That sounds so good.

I was taken to La Bete for dinner and had the sweetbreads. It was a small platter, and a bit much for sweetbreads, but it was only one item on the menu. There were other things that looked interesting, too. And the service was really welcoming.

Seattle: Need help prioritising (Asian, fish/chips and PNWesque restaurants)

Long was disappointing, IMO. I loved Green Leaf a thousand times more, and i didn't get the feeling i was sitting in some kitschy bar with a "fusion-y" happy hour menu (accompanied by lackluster service).

For instance, the escargot/pork rolls wrapped around sugarcane appetizers were better priced and of much higher quality at Green Leaf. I was kind of flabbergasted by how awful they were at Long.

http://www.yelp.com/biz/green-leaf-vi... I think this kind of gives you some insight into Green Leaf's reputation.

Bill the Butcher, "Coming Soon" to Edmonds

i jogged by it the other day (I live nearby). Interesting. My friend works for one of their locations. I know some Bill the Butcher Haters though, too. I really don't like to get in the middle of that too much and i can't afford their meat prices on a regular basis, so i will probably just keep jogging by!
But i think it's great Downtown Edmonds is getting more interesting shops to make up for Old Milltown getting torn down. And i can afford Bill's jerky (sooooo good).

Elysian Fields Brewery--so mad I could spit

Wow...i worked here for about a year after it first opened and remember how crazy it got at events, and how hard it was to keep track of people. I don't think any of the old staff is still there, but i can't imagine any of them outright ignoring a customer. I wonder who it was that put you off or if I would even know who they were.

Reasonable and excellent sushi recs needed

What's wrong with Fuji? I love it there. I have gotten nice omakase plates for whatever price I specify, and they've even included shirokara when I've mentioned my preference for it.

Tsukushinbo has never given me a chance to sit down, even after waiting in their small lobby for twenty minutes...not even looking up to greet me. So I went across the street to Fuji instead. I'm glad I did!

well prepared monkfish in seattle ?

You can buy it from H-Mart.

Then learn to cook it yourself. Earn yourself some cred!

Or eat the liver (ankimo) at Fuji Sushi (or some other sushi joint, but i like Fuji). But as far as the whole fish goes, it's been harder to order. My favorite Korean restaurants sometimes have it, but don't order it when it's not at its most popular.

And enough with the Seafoodwatch.org links, people. Did the OP ask for that? Nope.

What's considered average or regular when in comes to dining out?

i do both. I can't resist eating at some of my favorite places, but i will cook my other meals with just as much enthusiasm. You can have the best of both worlds!
