Not sure where you are, but for a while they had a deal with Visa in some areas (I want to say in the south) and Mastercard in others. I think they've changed to MC only. Interesting that you can use your Visa.

Best Sandwiches in westchester?
Interesting.. that's not what the website said (or at least not the way I read it).
Danbury
FWIW, I emailed the CT restaurant week people and suggested a Danbury Restaurant Week to them. They thought it was a good idea and were going to try to find the correct person to talk to.

So if I call in an order for a single sandwich (since you can't just show up and order it) will they get upset with me and give me an attitude when I show up to get it and nothing else?
Sushi in Westchester
Is that the place where the owner refuses to seat you if you show up without a reservation, even if there are empty tables?
Whole Foods coming to Albany
Good to see that these chains are acknowledging that NY exists north of White Plains (Hartsdale, in TJ's case). Maybe there is hope for those of us in Northern Westchester, or Poughkeepsie.

To be honest, I'm kind of predisposed not to go to A&S at all, because I had a very bad experience at the one in Mt. Kisco (which I understand is owned by people who used to be in Thornwood). The publisher of The Examiner tweeted that they were giving a free piece (I want to think 1/2 pound) of fresh mozzarella just for stopping in, right after they opened. So i went in and killed time waiting for the person ahead of me to finish, then they told me to wait because they were just making it, then after I'd killed over a half hour there and they realized that I wasn't actually buying anything, they decided that they were not going to give me the free mozzarella. They deleted my Facebook post on their page as well. Needless to say, I will not be going back to THAT location again.
Hudson Valley Restaurant Weeks 2012
It was great meeting you and your father! And fortunately Eric's wife was able to hold out on going into labor until after our meal (and after HVRW, I believe).

I actually asked the guy how big it was and he told me it was big enough for one person. I would have gotten it if he told me that it was enough for two.
New farm-to-table in Purdy's to open
They've updated their website and the menu is now up.

I called today and they told me the eggplant/roasted red pepper/mozz was $9.

What's the price? It looks good but I checked their website and they have the menu but no prices. Odd.
BGR Mount Kisco
Yes, I thought so. I just couldn't figure out why it was in the BGR thread.
BGR Mount Kisco
I am unable to follow your posts here. Are you talking about BGR, BLT Prime, Blazer, or something else? I'm guessing it's not BGR based on these last comments about drinks at the bar.

Fitting that they'd reply to a 3 year old thread with even older information.
New Whole Foods in Ridge Hill (Yonkers)
I don't believe that. I am fairly sure the reason they charge for parking is that there is going to be a residential portion to the complex, and they do not want the people who live there to be able to park for free. Also, they have another company running the lot, so they are doing it to make more money (maybe to collect what they had to pay to the Yonkers politicians to get it approved).
BTW if someone figures out if Lord & Taylor (opening today) validates, please post. I'd go to the RH Facebook page but they're probably tired of my complaining about the parking charges. Also, there are a surprising number of people who post there who have no problem paying for parking.

I see from another thread that you're a fan of The Cookery in Dobbs Ferry. They're on restaurant.com and Deal Chicken (Groupon clone) today. Are they in trouble? I guess so.
New Whole Foods in Ridge Hill (Yonkers)
I never said that everyone validates -- it is the exception rather than the rule. Sur La Table doesn't, and they've heard lots of complaints about it. Cheesecake Factory does but the combined time of your wait and meal may very well exceed their allowance and then you have to pay the entire $3.25. And I complained about the parking thing to Yard House when we ate there. They'd also heard it from several people. I saw that Bonefish Grill is opening their first Westchester location there, will be interesting to see if they validate. Does the Brazilian place?
Casual takeout near Sheraton in Tarrytown
If she's going to do Greek, better to do Santorini in Sleepy Hollow -- http://santorinigreekrestaurant.com/ . At least their food is really good (or was the last time I looked).
Anyway, I think Mint is the best choice for takeout.

Not sure why you say they screw everyone over. They can certainly be a good deal for the consumer. And as I said, it can be good for the merchant. I got a Groupon for a pizza place in Pleasantville that I've now done 3 large orders from for work. I never would have tried them if not for the Groupon since it's not near my house.

I still have a Living Social certificate for those "Twinkie's" at Lulu's. I need to get down there one of these days to use it.

Another option if you get there early is the Blue Hill Cafe at Stone Barns, but they close at 4:30pm according to their website.

Did they tell you that the tables were bolted to the floor or are you making assumptions?
Myong restaurant in Mount Kisco, NY
So while many of the reviews do seem to be decent (although there are certainly some negative ones) and they had a "Worth It" from the NYT last year, I decided to cancel my order. Turns out they are also on Restaurant.com, and they have larger denominations available there so it is a better deal. If you check out their Facebook page it appears that they have made changes recently. Myong is now the executive chef (they had some other guy previously) and I think they have a new manager. So clearly there were problems.
Sorry for posting a bad suggestion and thanks for setting me straight.
Also, being on Groupon is not necessarily a bad sign for a restaurant, it can help bring in new customers. I will admit to being surprised when I saw Myong on restaurant.com, that is typically NOT a good sign.

Interesting.. I'd only read good stuff here. I guess I need to look further and see if I can cancel my order (I probably can before the deal closes).

They're on Amazon Local today (similar to Groupon). $50 certificate for $25. I've never been but for this price I'm definitely trying it.
https://local.amazon.com/westchester-county/B007SY9D90
It's available for purchase until Friday, or sooner if they sell out. The certificate is good for a full year.
