The Southern - Asheville

We've had appetizers, cocktails and dinner there now twice. Have not been blown away by the food either time but it's decent. The cocktails are very yummy and service is good. Location is prime so, hopefully they can change up the menu a bit. I heard their kitchen was kind of limited based on what the restaurant used to be....?

Storm Rhum Bar & Bistro, Asheville

My first experience there was good. Food, drinks and service were great. Upon my recommendation, some friends took some business associates out and were very disappointed. Two of the entrees were not well heated, one being seafood was completely undercooked. The issue was addressed to the manager but a lack of heat lamp was to blame. Hopefully this was a one time instance as I'd like to go back. The cocktails were fabulous and I especially enjoyed the mac n' cheese.

Curate - Asheville

I have eaten at Curate about 6 times now and have had perfect meals every time. The service is also quite good. I do not think the menu is overpriced, for the quality of food and have frequently walked out of there when dining sans alcohol at a much lower price than some other area restaurants. It is in my opinion, the best restaurant in Asheville. My favorite thing on the menu is the honey drizzled eggplant. TO DIE FOR.

NYC Foodie coming to Myrtle Beach/Charleston

I agree with the others that mention going up to Murrells Inlet or Pawleys for food. I try and avoid Myrtle Beach for the most part and we typically stay in Murrells Inlet. There are several really tasty restaurants there. I think the best meal I had there was at Bovine's. Their corn pudding is amazing. There is a really good bakery in Pawley's, called Kudzu's. They have these cheese biscuits that are to DIE for. My favorite place to have drinks and people watch is at The Hot Fish Club out on their gazebo. They always have live music and crazy white people dancing. :)

NYC Foodie coming to Myrtle Beach/Charleston

My husband is from Charleston, but we have not lived there in several years, so I am sure there probably are "better" restaurants there now, but I always loved their she-crab soup.

You really can go to wrong in Charleston. They have amazing restaurants.
We also really like Coast & Fleet Landing, both of which are at a lower price point than the other two. have a great time!

Boca, Asheville

I've been there now twice. First time, we had the chickpea & empanada appetizers. I had the steak special & husband had the fish tacos. I really liked mine, husband thought his was so-so. Both agreed drinks were TASTY. Went back last night. Tried the calamari app (yum!). I had the duck special as my entree. It was SUPER. Whatever kind of sauce the chef made was phenomenal. Husband had the Huevos Motuleños. He really enjoyed his. I think my favorite drink is the Pearfume. Service is quite good. Friendly, fast, etc.

Best burger in Asheville?

I think Universal Joint does a great burger. And Frankie Bones has delicious sliders.

Roof top Drinks Asheville

I only know about Sazerac & the Sky Bar, which is hardly a rooftop bar but more like a bar on scaffolding :) I prefer Sazerac. I have not heard of Sky Club!? Off to Google...

Tingle (Asheville)

I have eaten dinner there once and lunch once. At dinner, we had the Oyster Rockefeller Puffs, which were very tasty. I had the Bacon-wrapped Meatloaf, fried okra fingers & seasonal veggies for dinner as a suggestion from the waitress. It was WONDERFUL. My husband was mad he didn't order it. Good, cheap local beers on tap. For lunch, I tried one of their housemade sodas (I can't remember which flavor, sorry!) and got the Cobb Salad. Very yummy. i can't get over how affordable this place is and the food quality is great. I am a huge fan of Sazerac as well so I really hope they both do well, so they'll stay open!

Cook-out in Asheville

I've had take out from here several times. Excellent burgers. I also had a chicken wrap once. It was pretty solid. The prices are good too. This place reminds me of Rush's in Columbia, SC area. Definitely the best "fast food" in the Tunnel Road/East AVL area, IMO.

BBQ in Asheville. Recs needed for dinner

I haven't been to 12 Bones in awhile but it was definitely always the best of the ones I'd tried here in Asheville. Has anyone been to Moe's which is in the spot that was formerly Stovetrotters? I feel like Asheville is kind of overrun with BBQ joints. My heart will always belong to the best BBQ I've ever had.....Sweatmans in Eutawville, SC, which of course is SC BBQ & a different animal from NC BBQ.
