Help! Any health food stores or markets in SoHo area? I'll be in the SoHo area before heading to JFK airport. Are there any healthfood stores or organic markets near Lafayette or Prince Streets... where I can grab a quick (but healthy) bite?? Thanks for your help! |

HELP! Should I buy foie gras @ EATALY to bring home to California? Thanks, ChefJune. I may follow sgordon's advice and check out Ottomanelli's or Buon Italia. |

HELP! Should I buy foie gras @ EATALY to bring home to California? sgordon: Yes, I'm thinking of checking the tins with my luggage so there won't be a chance of them confiscating it and thinking it's a bomb. P.S. Do you think EATALY is the best place to purchase it? My beloved FAUCHON closed down in NYC a few years ago, sadly (snif!) |

HELP! Should I buy foie gras @ EATALY to bring home to California? Sorry... should clarify that I'm not interested in TERRINE, but in the pieces of liver (the ones you find in the sealed tin). Thanks! |

HELP! Should I buy foie gras @ EATALY to bring home to California? I'm a fan of goose foie gras and was wondering if it makes sense to buy it at EATALY when I'm in NYC on a trip... since it's harder to find it in California. Would I save a lot on shipping/handling as compared to ordering it online? Thanks for your advice! |

Downtown... I heard that LA COLOMBE (the coffee shop on Lafayette) has terrific almond croissants. |

Help! TAKASHI (West Village) worth a visit? Thanks, sam1. I'm leaning more towards Bohemian Restaurant or Anissa at this point. I'm more in to uni and foie gras than offal or beef parts. |

Help! TAKASHI (West Village) worth a visit? Thanks, Kathryn. I like smaller restaurants. Their uni and foie gras dishes intrigue me the most. If I reserve for 2, will there still be a long wait? |

Help! TAKASHI (West Village) worth a visit? Their uni looks amazing. Was wondering if Takashi in the West Village is worth a special trip. Some people complain of tiny portions... |

Help! Please recommend a cafe in Union Square or NoHo to meet up w/ friend on Memorial Day! ROZE: You rock! Thanks! |

Help! Please recommend a cafe in Union Square or NoHo to meet up w/ friend on Memorial Day! I'm sad to hear that "The Adore" (one of my fave little cafes near the Union Square area) is closed. I've been out of Manhattan for a few years. Trying to set up a cafe meeting with an old friend on Memorial Day (Monday, 5/27). City Bakery said they may or may not be open that day. Can anyone think of a cafe with a great atmosphere that will be open on Memorial Day? Prefer to stay either in the NoHo or Union Square area. Thanks, Chowhounders! |

Help! BEST DIMSUM w/ carts in SGV on a Sunday afternoon/evening??!! Just read in one place that it originated from the north of China (Shandong province). Interesting cause "Zhejiang" is actually south of Shanghai... |

Help! BEST DIMSUM w/ carts in SGV on a Sunday afternoon/evening??!! Dear Chowhounders, I'm hoping you can lead me to the best dimsum in SGV on a Sunday (after 5pm). We prefer "old-fashioned style" with the carts. If that doesn't work timing-wise, we're also considering a place in SGV with the best steamed juicy dumplings and zhajiang mein (Shanghainese). Will be 6 or 7 of us (including 2 kids under 10). Thanks a million, Chowhounders!!! |

HELP! Spice Table or other DOWNTOWN restaurant for good food & atmosphere??!! a213b: At Parish, are there tv screens everywhere? Besides uber-noise, that's my one pet peeve... I think restaurants should be about people, not screens. Would love to hear about the food and environment at Parish. Thanks! |

HELP! Spice Table or other DOWNTOWN restaurant for good food & atmosphere??!! RicRios: Tried C&S before. Had oysters, duck confit... for some reason, nothing stood out or was memorable. Also our portion sizes were really small. Thanks, though! |
