how do you handle this??? [Moved from New Jersey]
At this point there is probably very little you can do to recoup your loss, unless the owner has a change of heart.
I know at least one person has recommended that you take your matter to small claims court. I'd really think twice about that. Yes, there is a small chance you might prove victorious or the owner might acquiesce and pay up rather than incur the cost of a lawyer, but since there is very little evidence supporting either position, and you'd need to drag a witness (or two) with you to support your claims; combined with the stress and time wasted; you really need to ask yourself if it's really worth it for the $93?
I know it sucks, but try and look at it as a learning experience; and demand an itemized check before paying from now on. Remember, life itself is a series of learning lessons. It sounds like you handled yourself gracefully and with quite dignity. You may have lost $93, but you gained twice that in karma points.
...of course, if you see the owner on the street, you should run up and kick her in the shin. Karma only goes so far.
Korean Tacos
The next time you have leftovers, please let me know. I'm willing to travel!
Korean Tacos
You need to travel a bit. There are areas of New Jersey with a large Korean population and many great restaurants... unfortunately Burlington County aint it.
Korean Tacos
The ones I've had have simply been Korean bbq in a tortilla. Some of them have also had some cabbage or kimchi added; some have a special sauce (usually gochujiang mixed with mayo or something similarly "Korean-ish"). As with Mexican tacos, you can usually choose the meat you want; marinated beef, beef short ribs, chicken, spicy pork or even tofu.
Korean Tacos
As a person who has spent many hours standing outside the Kogi truck in LA and far many more hours wiping al pastor juice from my cheeks in any of the gazillion taquerias that dot southern California, I can say they're both great. As with anything, the quality of the food depends on the quality of the ingredients and the quality of the chef (or cook if you prefer). Korean tacos are a relatively knew thing, and are mostly a novelty right now; so to compare them to Mexican tacos, which are traditional national cuisine, come in a dozen or more varieties, and are served in thousands of homes, restaurants, food trucks and little roadside stands maybe isn't a fair comparison.
L&B Spumoni Gardens type pizza in NJ?
Bruno's just opened a new location on Rt. 10 in East Hanover. Not as good as La Sicilia in Belleville IMO, but still pretty good.
New Restaurant Depot to Open on Rt66 Neptune NJ
It's true, a friend who isn't in the restaurant industry was shot by their security guards when he tried buy four salt shakers without the proper credentials. Seriously though, bgut1 is 100% correct, if you're not in the industry, you will have a tough time buying there. In the past, if you were crafty you could get around their requirements, but now they're much more diligent. You need either a reseller's permit or tax-exempt certificate to get a membership card and shopping privileges.
Fairway Coming to West Paterson!
What is the source of your info? I Googled this and couldn't find anything.

I thought they just relocated about 1/4 mile away to the shopping center with the Shop Rite.
Black Sesame and Black Bean Powder
I didn't seem to me like Gumpycat was trying to take credit for someone else's work. I agree the author could have been cited, but the first sentence in the post did say "Here's something from another blog..."
Black Sesame and Black Bean Powder
I don't think it's unheard of to do that. I've done it myself. I've been in ethnic markets on many occasions and purchased an interesting looking product or ingredient, with the intention of learning how to use it later. Sometimes is doesn't work out very well, but then again, sometimes it does.
New AYCE Sushi in Verona
I noticed a grand opening sign on a restaurant in Verona, on Bloomfield Ave (near the Acura dealership), called East Gate Sushi, Japanese & Chinese Restaurant. There is a big banner in the window that says All You Can Eat Sushi. Has anyone been there yet?
Black Sesame and Black Bean Powder
Just a suggestion, you may have better luck getting a helpful response to this question on the Home Cooking board.

Not a fan of 5 Guys. The burgers are ok. Certainly they look good enough while they're making them, but for some reason they always come out looking (and tasting) like a mushy, soggy, mess. The fries are natural cut and should be terrific, but they bury them under a salt seasoning mix which ruins them.
Zweiback
I don't think Nabisco makes Zweiback Toast any longer, but I've seen Zweiback Toast made by a company called Log House Foods. A quick internet search turned this up: http://loghousefoods.elsstore.com/view/product/?id=330011&cid=2557
Quality dinner in the Orange/Livingston area?
I think you mean the atmosphere at Hat City Kitchen is more casual than Highlawn Pavillion and the Strip House, not less casual.
Quality dinner in the Orange/Livingston area?
The Highlawn Pavillion does indeed have amazing views and excellent food, but be forewarned, it's not really the sort of place you'd dine on a business trip with the guys, It's very fancy and leans towards the romantic dinner crowd. The Strip House rec is a better suggestion IMO. Pal's Cabin is another option you might consider. Steaks and chops with a lot of local character.

You should definitely try the Kobe Beef Burger at the Bonefish Grill in Pinebrook. I know that Bonefish is mostly a fish a restaurant, but their hamburger is astonishingly good. In fact, I find that I rarely order the fish anymore (which is no slight to their fish, I just love the burger that much).
As I mentioned, Bonefish Grill is technically not in Caldwell, it’s in Pinebrook, but is pretty close.
Burger Deluxe
My recent experience at Burger Deluxe was not a positive one for reasons which have already been discussed on this board, but in the past I have enjoyed their burgers and I think their greek salad dressing is good enough to be bottled, so maybe they were having an off day.
Lithos, Livingston
Just out of curiosity, why do you enjoy the fact that it is more expensive?
Top NJ Cheese Shops
You seem to be implying something. Please explain your statement?
Traditional Irish Breakfast??
This is around the corner from me but I've always been hesitant about trying it. The Bennigan's look combined with menu items like quesadillas, seafood fradiavlo and bbq ribs makes me think "corporate, Irish themed, chain restaurant", rather than authentic and family owned . Now as I've said, I haven't been there, so this was just my impression. I would love to hear feedback from anyone that's eaten there.
Worst experience ever
This was really your worst experience ever? It wouldn't even make my top 10.
What can you tell me about D'Oro, Chatham?
I've been there twice and enjoyed both visits, however some of their preparations of traditional dishes are not what you may expect and the menu is a bit misleading in the way they describe certain items. The Spiedino alla Romana comes to mind as one example. It was tasty, just not the traditional preparation and not what I expected based on the menu's description. So ask your server to describe what you intend to order and you should be fine. Also, consider bringing a megaphone with you if you want anyone at your table to hear you.
Search Feature?
Am I imagining things or did the search feature for searching within inidividual boards just disappear?
What's your favorite eateries in The Oranges , Newark, Irvington.... ??
I grew up around the corner from Pals and still consider their Grilled Redwood (really a Reuben); to be one of the great sandwiches of all time, but every time I've been there in recent years I've been disappointed with the quality and the preparation. It's like they're just phoning it now. I can't deny that they still get the crowds, but in my opinion Pals is a shadow of what it used to be. In fairness though, I've never had the mushroom soup.
