Are there any decent vegetarian tamale options?

Thanks for the recommendations. We ended up getting six chili cheese tamales from Cinnamon. By far the best vegetarian tamales we have had -- even better than Corn Maiden. They were actually, in and of themselves, good tamales. The green sauce is excellent by the way. Perfectly tangy and spicy.

New to Eagle Rock - Recs for Family Owned Restaurants

Two great Thai recommendations: Sicha Siam on Eagle Rock Blvd at York, and Thai Spirit on Colorado across from Rock Mall.

I agree that many/most restaurants in ER are family owned.

To go with your meals from family owned restaurants, don't forget family owned wine stores: Colorado Wine just down the street from Four and Camilios. Great bargain wines and you can bring your food in.

We tried the vegan tamales at Whole Foods and they were just awful. Truly awful. We don't need vegan tamales but we do need vegetarian tamales. Are there any edible options?

Afternoon Tea - where is most similar to Langham, Pasadena?

The Chado Tea Rooms are nice (but I haven't been in about a year). There is one downtown in Little Tokyo and one in Pasadena.

You've hit all of the really great ones though so you are going to have a very had time topping it.

My family usually road trips every year to Hatch and brings back hundreds of pounds of New Mexico chili. We can't do it this year and can't afford to buy it at Bristol Farms.
