Walnut oil?

I have seen Walnut oil sold in the bulk store at the bottom of the St.Lawrence market (the one in the basement near the west staircase, closest to Front St.) They have a great selection of different types of oils and different brands.

Anyone know about the BIG walnut on bloor?

I've bought a few things from them too. I'm still fencesitting on whether I like the store or not. I like having a bulk food store nearby, but I find their selection a tad limited if you're not white and middle class.

Also, those unfunctional glass containers with glass lids need to go.

The Bloordale Pantry

While I was walking home from the Value Village on Bloor at Landsdowne, it started to pour. Luckily, I was able to duck into the Bloordale Pantry to escape the rain.

Although it was Sunday (their kitchen closes at 3pm on Sunday), I was still able to order a slice of pie and coffee.

The pie was delicious. I'm a huge fan of pie, so I consider myself a good judge of how it's made. This pie was peach-blueberry and the filling had an excellent texture and was somewhat tart, sweetened only by the natural flavour of the peaches. The crust was also excellent. Although I prefer a flakier crust, this one had a great texture, both moist and flaky, but not mushy. The colour was also beautiful, and they give you a nice large slice.

It probably would have made for the perfect afternoon meal, only I found their coffee to be overly bitter, although, it was nice and strong, which made up for a really poor coffee I bought previously down the street and ended up pouring into a plant on the side of the road.
