Restaurants in London City / Canary Wharf Thanks for the info - have booked into Tayyabs |

Restaurants in London City / Canary Wharf OK thanks for the info _ I am getting the feeling that anywhere near Canary Wharf is all corporate which we want to avoid like the plague. So looking thru other Chow discussions, it seems Tayyabs gets the thumbs up and Antico of Bermondsey St - both in reasonable distance from Limehouse. But I am wondering whether Tayyabs is bog standard Indian but on a good standard or is it rather special?? Any comments on these two or other Bermondsey/East London eateries (£45 - £50 per person) Thanks for all your help |

we are going up to London for the theatre from our deep country home in Devon. Having experienced the thrashing about searching for a good eatery as a naive tourist and always failing, could somebody please point us in the right diection for a realaxed mid price pre theatre non tourist eating venue somewhere not too far away from Piccadilly - and SW1. I am sure there are eateries that trhe locals know about and we certainly do not. Thank you. |

We are regular visitors to Glasgow and enjoy the wonderful restaurants there. Just wondering whether there are excellent restaurants anywhere around Loch Lomond (along with small boutique hotel ) in quiet location. Reading reports on Lomond, it seems important to stay away from the many coach trippers. |

Chowhound members found us wonderful restaurants in Glasgow - especially the Ubiquitous Chip. Any similar venues in Edinburgh please |

Any suggestion as to how to make a superb Gravadlax (or Dill )sauce? Not the thick goo sometimes found in bottles in England but the wonderful Gravadlax sauce found in Sweden. |

Recently gob smacked by jellies made with exciting ingredients such as Bubblegum vodka / campari etc as per Bompas and Parrs' jelly book - brings jellies onto another planet. They taste good but also can look wonderful with Modernistic Exciting Jelly Moulds - Pyramids , towers and so on. BUT where can I get these wonderful shapes. We dont want rabbits and old fashioned shapes. |

thanks everyone - it is a medlar tree, not a loquat - it is a good looking small tree and so maybe we will enjoy the aesthetics rather than get excited abouth the fruit. However, if we get to make anything out of the fruit, we will let you know - we are in southern England by the way |

Got a Medlar tree which, this year, has a bumper crop. Any suggestions on what to do with them? |

Cornwall - places for a slap up posh meal Would suggest the Driftwood Hotel near St Mawes or Tresanton Hotel at St Mawes - both within half an hour of Meva |
