'Demi, a North Baltimore gem

I liked Demi, but thought many dishes were a little too overwrought, and that too many of the same flavor profiles kept reappearing. That said, I really appreciated the ahi tuna with jasmine rice, vanilla soy broth, and sriracha aioli. The vanilla accent was sultry, provocative, and satisfying. Some of the other dishes I was excited about--pork belly, 6-minute egg--failed to wow me. And some ingredients that enticed me to choose a dish--brussel sprouts!--were hard to taste amid everything else happening on the plate. But all in all, I'm thrilled that someone in Baltimore is making such creative, thoughtful food, grateful for the opportunity to gawk as it is prepared, and curious to see how it matures. I hope that the menu changes periodically--so far it doesn't seem like it has. I'll definitely be back!

Breakfast Burritos in Baltimore

I just moved to Baltimore from the Wild West, and I am craving a solid, smothered, breakfast burrito. I tried the chorizo version at the Golden West Cafe and, alas, my search for satisfaction continues. Is there any hope for me?
