10 person group looking to do a Friday night celebration dinner (they staying in Union Sq and we are going to SOMA afterwards, but not restricted to either locale)

Have a 10 person group, who enjoy good food, but are more focused for this on a good, lively atmosphere with a full bar and good wine list. Ideas from the 'Hounds?

Party of 9 celebration dinner - Quartino, Landmark, Drawing Room or ???

NSXTASY: thank you so much for your reply, great ideas.

Question: did none of the original 3 I named inspire much excitement from you? I'd like a real fun place with good food and quality atmosphere that isn't too "scene-y" .... any other suggestions (some of the places you suggested were full)...

Looking forward to more suggestions,

Dyn-O-Mite.

Party of 9 celebration dinner - Quartino, Landmark, Drawing Room or ???

Group of 9 -- all adults 30+ -- looking for a nice but not too expensive dinner party location celebration.

So far, given the poor planning on my part -- our finalists (given reputation & availability) are Quartino, Landmark, & Drawing Room (or where ever else you may recommend)

GatG, Publican, Blackbird and similar usual suspects are all booked...

Anyone care to vote among those three -- or submit a write-in candidate?

Thanks Hounds for the help!

Love that place, but we've already been ... looking to try something new.

Urasawa is dominating! Unfortunately, I went back after the day 1 results, and was informed that Japanese was a no-go... So I had to update the options to reflect this change.

So far Bazaar is in the lead ... can another contender surface?

Yeah, that might have been a bit of hyperbole, just trying to maximize both, and with SO MANY excellent options in this city, trying to distinguish what we're looking for a bit.

Thanks you so much for registering your vote. Although, I might have to take Urasawa off, as I was just informed Japanese is not a preferred option... d'oh!

west hollywood area for atmosphere for out of towners?

Looking back on an old thread here -- is this the Osteria or the Pizzeria, or does it not matter?

Seeking advice for a place with equal parts great food/great atmosphere -- ideas?

Relatively new out here (2 months) and have been as adventurous as possible trying out the fare here in LA (been to Red O, Cobras, Toscana, Sunnin, Genwa, Haru), and now we're looking for a weekend night place to go that will deliver great food and a lively atmosphere (along the lines of Red O, but not necessarily Mexican, and with all due respect to Mr. Bayless, perhaps a bit better in the food department)...

Any suggestions out there? The help is very much appreciated!
