The lot is pretty small..not sure how big the store will be(unless they build up). But I agree,it'll be a nice addition to the neighborhood.

At work the only person who gets to use my knives(on a regular basis) is the Chef and she was so impressed that she's going to buy the same brand,but a smaller size. I've let almost everyone else "test drive" my blades,just so the can see the difference,but after that hands off!

I had a couple of slices from the new Gelato Pizza that opened up on Eg&Ave Rd..Pretty decent pie good variety but no better than Pizzaiolo pizza.The gelato looked good and they'll deliver both!

I know it's not downtown but the Cheese Boutique probably has the best cheese and charcuterie selection in the city.They might deliver.

I bought my 3 Moritaka from Knife and my 3 Konosuke from Tosho(+ 2 Kasumi from "The Healthy Butcher") all local proprietors..

I don't know about you,but I always use towels when I handle a hot pan that's just come out of the stove so sharp/right angle edges don't come into play for me...

I've been using both my carbone plus pans(without any coating on the handles) for over a year now and there's no signs of rust whatsoever.The handles are as black as the rest of the pan,so I guess they've been seasoned some how. :)

It's a double edged sword..If the chef comes out to chat with regulars(which he/she should if time permits) but ignores the other diners,who might feel slighted buy this,might not want to become regulars.A 30 second "good evening,how was everything" is fine, not their life story...

Lot's of hype but no meat(seriously,they didn't have the cut I wanted that was on their website)
Food was OK,service was prompt but I didn't see the value for the $$$ we spent($8.00 for a small plate of fried chicken skins..seriously?). The funny thing was I didn't see any chicken dishes on the menu.so where did they get the skins from hmmm? :D
