I second Barney's Greengrass. They have a great selection and you won't have the greasy aftertaste that is so usual w/ the other deli's. |
Try Trader Joes.... They always carry the frozen ones and also sometimes fresh. |

olives at the bellagio (Las Vegas) I recommend you try Olives for lunch since we always have had it for lunch. The food is great and I can't imagine dinner being any less. SW is truly my favorite restaurant in Vegas. If you like lamb, I highly recommend the lamb chops at SW. |

I second Saladang (pasadena) as my first choice for Thai. In Glendale, I prefer Tep Thai since Thai In La uses msg. |

The scene is very pretty and romantic but the food is okay. If you are looking for a pretty place to celebrate and don't really care about having a culinary experience then this is the place. |

Downtown business dinner -- best food and most fun! Watergrill would be my first choice! Best seafood in LA. Roy's is also good and fun! |

A Nice Mother's Day Brunch? L.A. to the Westside - Help I just had Grace for dinner last weekend and it was nothing worth to write home about. |

Korean BBQ that will accomodate fish-only? Woo Lae Oak on LaCienga has salmon and veggie options on their menu. |

3 nights in LA-girls weekend- where to go? Either Koi or Katana (sushi) is a good choice for a girls night out. Although I do prefer Katana over Koi. I can't comment about Katsuya in Brentwood but Katsuya on Ventura Blvd. in the valley is one the best sushi places in LA opinion. If you are more for the chow go to Katsuya on Ventura. If you want more of a scene go for either Katana or Koi. |

Dinner near Glendale Community College? This post made me try La Cabanita tonight. I was in search of a good mexican in the area and never knew of this place until now. It is small local neighborhood restaurant that I never had noticed, until now. The food and drinks were great. I had their chicken mole and it was fantastic. My husband had the carne asada tacos and those were also very good. All plates come with spanish rice and black beans. I would say this place definitely has a good variety of authentic mexican dishes in addition to the usual tacos, burritos and enchiladas. The place was packed and we did have to wait for awhile to get seated and service was a little slow. But I would say the food was worth the wait. We will def. be going back. This is a great casual restaurant to try. |

They are now offering daily specials every night. |

Where can I Find the Best Mexican Restaurant in LA? La Huasteca was the best mexican in Pasadena but unfortunately it closed. I'm yet to have very good mexican anywhere in the LA area. I've tried Frida and it was good, but nothing spectacular. If anyone knows of a really good mexican place in LA, Pasadena or Glendale please post!!!!! |

Best Persian From Pasadena to the Beach If you know your kabob then Raffi's Place in Glendale is the best. Shamshiri is okay, nothing mind blowing. If you do decide to go to Shamshiri I would stick with their Khoresh (stews) versus their kabob. |

Where can I find sunchokes???? Does anyone know where I can find sunchokes (aka jerusalem artichokes) in the LA area? |

Falafel at Raffi's in Glendale? The mahi-mahi at Rafi's is very good. |
Falafel at Raffi's in Glendale? No falafel at Raffi. They have appetizers and salads that are vegan but no entrees other than the rice. For falafel try Skaf's, as mentioned, or Carousel on Brand. Carousel has a lot of of vegetarian selections. |

Cheap Eats in Beverly Hills... Urth Cafe on Beverly Drive has great soups made fresh daily and sandwiches. |

Pasadena Bistro - Madeleine or Cafe Bizou Def. go for Cafe Beaujolais. It will be worth the drive and the food is incredible. |

Pre-cooked Thanksgiving Dinners? Does anyone have a recommendation on a good place to order a Thanksgiving Dinner??? |

I have had pretty much everything at Portos and agree that their reputation is a bit "inflated". Their cakes are pretty good, but way too sweet. |

Need a great birthday lunch spot in the SFV Oh, just remembered Juliane's in San Marino! Also, a great lunch spot. |

Need a great birthday lunch spot in the SFV There is Cafe Santorini in Old Town Pasadena. They have a very pretty rooftop patio which you can check out online at www.cafesantorini.com. The food is mediterranean. |

New Downtown L.A. Rooftop Sushi Place? What is exactly good at R-23???? I've been there and must say it left not much to be desired. Overated is an understatement! |

I had dinner at All India last night due to reading favorable reviews. We had chicken tandori, chicken masala, biryani and a chickpea dish. The chicken tandoori was nothing remotely even close to tandoori. It was like a reheated grilled chicken and had absolutly NO tandoori flavor. The masala was OK. The chickpea and biryani were good, but nothing worth a second visit. The service was poor. I'm wondering why anyone would recommend this place and why???? |

Middle Eastern food in Pasadena? Wahib's is good food. Sahara is okay. As for Burger Continental - stay away, that is a bad example of middle eastern food. |
Nice restaurant for fish in Pasadena Agree w/ the others on Shiro. It is worth it! |
I def. agree that Briganti is mediocre at best. Celestino is one the best italians in Pas. Gale's is also very good. |
Cafe Santorini is one of my favorites- good food, service and atmosphere. |
